We get our 3rd taste of the upcoming Fang Island record, Major , with the crashing “Seek It Out”. It’s another infectious, joyous anthem from the Rhode Island/Brooklyn boys. The guitars might seem a bit mean-spirited, but Jason Bartell’s constant light and uplifting vocals make the possible odd combination work to perfection. I’m personally enjoying this new direction to feature much more vocals in the songs. Adds a bit more of texture in my opinion. Its an amazing film of the 1969 Bilzen Jazz Festival which features many acts that traditionally don't get a lot of play on the left side of the Atlantic including Brian Auger, and The Move. Check out the Humble Pie version of Dr. John's "Walk On Gilded Splinters" which is nice since I've been on such a Dr. John kick lately.
