White Rabbits Milk Famous TBD Records [2012] Fire Note Says: White Rabbits get more sonic on third LP Milk Famous . Album Review: White Rabbits have never tried to disguise that they have a strong similar sound to Spoon. In fact they had Britt Daniel produce their last record It's Frightening [2007] and now have longtime Spoon producer Mike McCarthy at the helm for [...]

WATERS Out In The Light TBD Records [2011] Fire Note Says: A nice balanced guitar debut from WATERS. Album Review: It seems lately that the indie genre has been leaning more towards the rock side of things with the new crop of bands coming onto the scene and WATERS fits that bill. This may be a surprise if you are [...]
Other Lives - For 12 [TBD] : Maybe a bit bizarre that this was number 3 in my best tracks of 2010...but here it is in 2011 form. Every now and then you hear a song that immediately results in the kind of reaction you experience pretty infrequently throughout your year. And you won't ever [...]
Tweet "There's an empty space inside my heart And it won't take root Tonight I'll set you free I'll set you free" Better late than never, friends. I apologise for what may appear to be a lack of posts lately. It won't happen again. With that said... How about the new Radiohead record, eh? The King Of Limbs ... What do we all think, eh? For those of you not in the know and it should be [...]

Back in September, Shit Robot released his highly anticipated debut album From the Cradle to the Rave . From what I've heard on the year, the DFA head's release should land in many a "top ten" lists and with cameos from the likes of James Murphy (Executive Producer/ LCD), Alex Taylor (Hot Chip), Juan Maclean and of course Nancy Whang, there's no reason why it shouldn't. Enjoy "Take 'Em Up" and the TBD remix of "I Found Love" on the house and pick up From the Cradle to the Rave at [...]

i dont want to sound like im stealing lines from a chick flick, but nothing is going to dampen my spirits today. not even the worst day from the depths of winter, the cancellation of the project ive been working on all day and all night for the past week, and not even the crappy music blasting just outside my office. the weekend starts tonight, and i intend to sleep for the majority of it. but not before watching ex- avalanches turntablist dexter tonight. listening to avalanches mixes all afternoon is probably what has my spirits so [...]

Permanent Vacation - Zuckerhut (TBD Remix) [See post to listen to audio] When a track has TBD tagged on it, I am not sure what is going on. Their (sort of epic) Try To Find Me remix started off as disco. That, I could follow. Then things took a turn for the deeper. And yes, I was lost, drifting through an empty space of cosmic disco for a good five minutes. Their remix of Zuckerhut follows the same principles, although it strips those first three minutes of [...]

Autolux Transit Transit (08.2010, TBD Records) RIYL: being let down gently I waited so long for this. So Long. For This. For this? I wanted you to return triumphantly with vengeance in your wings and you just sort of showed up, not really soaking from the rain, but and not with a haircut. It was sort of just like, "oh hey, Autolux has a new album finally, oh, cool," instead of, Autolux blew my brains out again! Welcome back the man (men/woman), the myth, the legend!" I mean, Transit Transit [...]

I've been clamoring for a good movie all summer. In all honesty, I don't think I can remember of a summer being this crappy in terms of summer releases. The best movie I've seen this summer was a Red Box rental, "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo". Keep in mind I haven't seen "Toy Story 33 or "Despicable Me" as of yet, or "Inception" for that matter. The only thing making up for the lackluster summer movie lineup is the stellar Sunday night lineup on HBO that consists of "True Blood", "Hung", and "Entourage". [...]

The first fruits of the Shit Robot record hit the interwebs this week in the shape of TBD's remix of 'I Found Love'. Ace slap funk stylings. His record 'From The Cradle To The Rave' will be out in September, also look out for TBD's recent 12 on DFA : Maximum acid tweeking. Shit Robot- I Found Love (TBD Remix) (Download) K-X-P hail from Finland and make space age kraut rock: Their debut LP is due very soon on Smalltown Supersound . [...]

Shit Robot From The Cradle To The Rave (DFA Records, September 21) Twenty-one years. It may sound like a long time, or maybe it's just right. For Shit Robot, it is the number of years that it took put all of the pieces together and live all of the experiences and hear all of the sounds that would ultimately lead to From The Cradle To The Rave, due out September 21st via DFA Records. It is the [...]

A little music history for you guys.... Marcus Lambkin (aka Shit Robot ) is unveiling his debut album, From the Cradle to the Rave , an album 20 years in the making. He has been dubbed "The Godfather of DFA" by label head James Murphy becasue he helped build DFA Records from the ground up, musically and literally. After moving to NYC in 1992 from his native Dublin, Ireland, the man behind the moniker served a stint as a resident DJ at the infamous club Save the Robots ; co-founded Plant Records and the [...]

Marcus Lambkin, aka Shit Robot is turning 40 next year - but before he hits that milestone he has his debut album by the name of From the Cradle to the Rave dropping on 20th September on DFA . We'll be doing a full review closer to the release date, but trust me - you will *need* this record. Seriously. From the Cradle to the Rave does one pretty damn amazing job of stepping from house to electro, with a little electro-funk rolled in. The records apparently been decades in the making - but fuck [...]

Brooklyn's DFA has been known to release some great disco records, but acid?... Yup. TBD 's debut single is out of control squelchy madness, complete with electro drums and even guitar. Here's the B-side, my pick of the two. TBD - Okay, Cool [192 kbps]
