Hey Boy - Teddybears Fresh (2004) One of Axe 's adverts from their Hair Crisis Relief series features a dude with flakes dancing in the club to a thumping track. The man with the hair crisis is dancing a funny dance that reminds me of a particular bar in the pizza ally in Lima, Peru where a pair of gentlemen were doing the exact same dance! In the commercial, the dance is interrupted as some [...]

As promised, the contrast podcast brings you the first installment of this year's Festive Fifty countdown. Translated, that means the top fifty songs of 2008 as voted by listeners and contributors. Tim has asked contributors from the past year to introduce tracks, just like he did last year. To listen and see what songs made the cut, go here . I do not appear in this week's episode. I do appear later but I'm not going to tell you when. I'll save [...]

First of all, my main-squeeze, Mr. Derek Davies (of GWFAS ), has outdone us yet again. So we thought a top 40 albums of 2006 post was totally sweet and all that, but Derek has to go and make a massive top 50 MUSIC VIDEOS of 2006 list, complete with iPod compatibility videos and lengthy write-ups. Derek did something like this last year, and pretty much single-handedly shut down ezarchive for two days because of it's popularity. I personally don't find music video's too exciting (it's my A.D.D.), but I must say I [...]

(Photo: Michael Conroy/ Associated Press) Week two and I have to start with the Colts. They had an easy matchup against a still terrible Houston Texans team. They had some tough injuries this game though. As soon as Brandon Stokley is back, he's out again, reinjuring his ankle. Tight end Ben Utecht had a key catch early in the game, but sustained a head injury in the process. Defensively, Freeney left the game early with a limp and Marlin Jackson sustained an leg injury. Vinateri continues to earn his check and be [...]

I know it says extended mix but don't run away quite yet, it's not actually 73 minutes long. It's time for some pop education. Recently there has been lots of discussion of the Teddybears' US launch, and rightfully so as they are little furry geniuses (not genii, I checked), but the discussion should be negative because the new versions of the songs are utterly rubbish. How they managed to turn brilliant songs into boring ones, even with the addition of Neneh Cherry and Annie, I haven't a clue, but they have and I am here to educate any of you [...]

I was looking at my Last.fm charts and it seems that I listen to a lot of the Teddybears (Stockholm) . Yesterday I saw that preview video of their American debut Soft Machine (September 12) on Pitchfork and noticed that they changed one of my favs by them, Yours to Keep by changing the guest vocalist from Swiss singer Paola to Neneh Cherry and Annie. Awww shucks guys, why'd ya have to go and do that. It lost its Enonesque vibe. Either way, I'm sure they can score a top 40 hit with [...]

Okay, so there's this band Teddybears that's just been popping up everywhere over the last few weeks, particularly on the MP3 blogs. People keep posting the same track over and over (and I am going to as well, with a twist) and the buzz is predictably building. There's one thing that strikes me as really weird about the whole thing. Teddybears isn't exactly a new band. Not by any stretch of the imagination! They're better known everywhere else in the world as Teddybears STHLM [...]

Holy shiz, I love this band! Teddybears Stockholm are, as their name states, from Stokholm, Sweden. I heard their song Cobrastyle on Entourage the other night and knew I had to check them out (I guess the track is also on the EA Sports FIFA 2006 gametrack & a TAB commercial(!?)). These tracks are very different, hard to believe they are by the same band, but both great in different ways. Yours To Keep is [...]
