Another fantastic new band introduction courtesy of Best Fit Recordings. Fanzine are clearly infatuated with the Stone Roses and Teenage Fanclub, and their drummer might be a few amphetamines away from shadowing Reni's exhilarating rhythmic skills. Some very nice guitar work at the end only means this is a group that's capable of challenging some of the best British rock names of the 80s and 90s, I hope.
Gerard Love bassist with Teenage Fanclub has a new band project Lightships with support from Bob Kildea (Belle & Sebastian), Tom Crossley (The Pastels) and fellow Fanclub members Dave McGowan and Brendan O'Hare, Electric Cables is out April 3rd on Domino Records on both CD and vinyl, there's a 73 inch out too entitled Sw eetness in her Spark due March 26th - here's the single and lead track from the album, sounding very nice indeed.
