I hope everybody that had the fortune of going to Coachella did so with full force. There's no time for slacking off at a festival like that. In many ways it's like a 5K run uphill, only your music is replaced by 100 subs, 500 speakers, and a song selection that probably couldn't fit on a 64 GB iPhone. I was having a discussion earlier about the biggest festival in existance. My friend thinks it's Global Gathering or EDC , I say Tomorrowland or Ultra . If you've got any ideas, feel [...]
I caught up with Protohype as his new ep for Firepower drops and asked about the origins of this, the first of a trilogy... Protohype: Well, I’ve been sitting on a lot of original music for a... [[ This is a content summary only. Visit my website for full links, other content, and more! ]]
When it comes to crushing bass music, Boston trio Terravita has an embarrassment of riches. Signed to Datsik 's Firepower Records, this grimy dubstep alter-ego of electro outfit Hot Pink Delorean has a death metal aesthetic that goes beyond their twisted logo and Satanic cover art. Terravita's mix for Ultra Music Festival Radio is a relentlessly heavy tour de force through a 40-minute assortment of skull-rattling originals and cleverly arranged mashups. Highlights include Celldweller's spot-on Black Sabbath remix and Terravita's set-closing "Rock the Carol of the Bells," a brilliant trap reinterpretation of the old Christmas standard. Give it a listen and check out [...]

Merry Christmas everyone! Hope you're having a great holiday and enjoying some well deserved time off from work, school, world domination, or whatever else your daily grind consists of! I know everyone's busy around this time (including myself), so I'll keep this one short, but I figured I should at least throw some heavy Christmas tunes your way! Don't worry... your regular Bass Report will be back next week, and I'll catch you up on any big tracks released over the break. I'll start it off with [...]
Merry Xmas to everyone!!! Here's a few entertaining videos that you might or not have seen yet. Enjoy! Here's a few FREE festive tracks for you all to D/L Also D/L these FREE bangers. CHECK IT!

Being that time of year.... you have no choice but to listen to Christmas music. You might as well listen to a little Christmas music that packs a punch, ya digg? Terravita has done a Rock The Carol of the Bells Remix , and it goes hard. Better tell Santa to strap on the woofers, because this ones going to make that sleigh BUMP. I suppose if I were to give this a genre, it'd be TRAP, but it's a holiday remix, it'll die as soon as the season as subsided. Either way, instead of giving out [...]

Ho Ho Ho's get ratchet this holiday season and The Trap Dojo has got the Christmas beats to make 'em twerk. This special edition of the dojo is chock full of seasonal goodies from old faces and new friends. Our first track is a remix of The Ronettes version of "Sleigh Ride", infused with a whole lot of footwork by Wheez-ie that will be sure to put a smile on your face. The same track gets another, much more hood treatment later in the list from Trill.iam . Next up is an absolutely massive "Carol of the Bells" [...]

No need to introduce this guy any more. Seven Lions has proven his sound a few times over in a short time, and at #1 now gives us a remix of Delerium , a group he has looked up to since his musical beginnings. #1 Delerium - Days Turn Into Nights ( Seven Lions Remix) A bit of a change-up from the usual trance/dubstep medley, Seven Lions ' version of 'Days Turn Into Nights' moves at a slick moombahton speed. The slowed tempo [...]

Oh Terravita , what have you gone and done? This one is a game-changer for sure. So here's the brief of what's about to go down once you hit play. You'll be greeted with a funky jam of bass guitar and drums and instantly groove to this fresh approach from these dubstep specialists. Enter the build and the unleashing of raw bass force that you craved since you spied the name of the artist in this post. That alone would be enough to warrant a solid track that would satisfy the needs of filth seekers [...]
I caught up with relatively new US dubstep producer The Frim in the aftermath of the 'Firepower' tour. And asked how it went. The Frim: The tour went amazing! I'm incredibly lucky... [[ This is a content summary only. Visit my website for full links, other content, and more! ]]
Terravita's 'The Power of Fire' ep is out now and they're part of the huge 'Firepower' tour (see at end of post) so caught up. DB: Your ep is a lot of fun, problem... [[ This is a content summary only. Visit my website for full links, other content, and more! ]]

Leave your rainbow boots at home, and ready yourself for some seriously sinister music. Things are getting dark this week on Bass Report. I heard this first track dropped by a few drum & bass giants at WEMF in August, and have been searching for it ever since. I will admit, my memory was a little hazy that weekend due to lack of sleep (yeah, we'll call it that)... but now that we've been reunited, I can tell my judgement was still crystal clear. The original is an impressive piece of work on it's [...]

I could talk about how well-put together the new Terravita EP is. I could mention how this is how you make a proper explosive, finely-tuned piece of bass music; how each song has shape, flow and variation. That I can't get enough of the old-school hip-hop vibe of No Room, or the electric guitar and rolling drums of Well-Oiled Machine. That the vocals aren't over-produced, and that it's flat out fun to listen to. Or, I could just make a handy infographic. [...]

Terravita, AKA Matt Simmers, Jon Spero, and Chris Barlow are a rambunctious group, even by Bass music standards; I met Jon completely out of the blue via a discussion about the possibility of attack on the festival via Pirate ship. You can imagine what sort of topics came from there (Or maybe not; after sitting down over a beer with Matt we ended up going through the history of visual art movements and how they connect to music at large) but really, it's hard to imagine a more good-natured group of people. It was Sunday afternoon that I [...]

After contributing to Korn's epic 2011 dubstep album, The Path of Totality , and touring with Steve Aoki on The Deadmeat Tour, Canadian dubstep phenom Datsik (a.k.a. Troy Beetles) is gearing up for his own 40-city tour with artists from his own label. The Firepower Records tour begins on August 30 in Denver and will feature Datsik along with Big Shot favorites Delta Heavy , Terravita, Bare Noize, XKR, Getter and AFK. “Tearing thru 40+ cities this fall, with a sick ass line up, dope new production and a mental sound system,” said Datsik via [...]
