It's true! The summer is over. Sad. We're closing down early today to enjoy the long Labor Day weekend. That also means we won't be here Monday. We hope everyone has a great, Axel Rudi Pell-free weekend! While you await our return, here's some fun stuff we did this week: We wrapped up our interview [...]
The Accüsed turned thirty this year. What did they do to commemorate the milestone? Did they reissue one of their early crossover classics in a five-CD box set format with four hours of throwaway demo tracks? Nope. Did they play The Return of Martha Splatterhead in its entirety on a lifeless reunion tour? Not a [...]

Beyoncé, Mathew Knowles - Wireimage Looks like the end of Beyoncé and her father Mathew Knowles ' professional relationship wasn't as mutual as he once claimed it was. In legal papers released by TMZ , Mathew claims he was fired by his Grammy-winning eldest daughter after she was led to believe he was stealing money from her; an accusation he denies. According to the papers, concert giant Live Nation told Beyoncé that Mathew helped himself to money he wasn't entitled to from her most recent tour. [...]

According to MTV , Beck apparently took issue with the band's song 'Sing' being performed on a recent episode of ' Glee .' He subsequently warned all parents that [...]

"We have produced 'Beat Me Back' listening [to] the loop from a sample library which contains sounds old school given [...]
Liam Gallagher is accusing his brother and former Oasis bandmate Noel of using unused Oasis songs for his solo debut album.
FEATURING MEMBERS OF DRAGONFORCE, A LIFE ONCE LOST, ALL SHALL PERISH, CANCER BATS, THE ACCUSED, AIRBOURNE, ABSU, WOE, WHILE SHE SLEEPS, DIAMOND PLATE, MALEFICE, AND MUTANT SUPREMACY For 2010, we decided to do something special as part of our regular end-of-year festivities here at MetalSucks — namely, ask musicians from across the vast spectrum of [...]
I was fortunate to grow up in the Seattle area during a time in which there were some seriously fucking great metal and punk bands: Forced Entry, Dumt, Last Gasp, Daterape, and Bitter End were all sick, but none of them were as groundbreaking, insane, and generally fucking awesome as THE ACCUSED. Probably my overall [...]
Kurt Ballou is the guitarist for Converge and runs/is Godcity Recording Studio. In both of these capacities he has been a big part of making some of my favorite music ever. Screw the commonly used term "arguably" – Converge's last record is their best/hardest record yet. And Kurt's recording style presents live-sounding documents of aggressive [...]

You have to hand it to Southern Lord for continuing to give people a reason to buy vinyl. Toward the end of last year, Southern Lord released a limited edition 180 gram vinyl version of The Accüsed's The Curse of Martha Splatterhead . The vinyl is limited to 1,500 copies - 500 copies on 'blood and gore splattered' vinyl and 1,000 copies on red vinyl. The vinyl version also contains two bonus tracks: a cover of the UK Subs classic "Living Dead" and a reworking of the old Accüsed favorite "Wrong Side of the Grave" (from [...]
Here's another post for Tony the punk business manager as he has this E.P. on his want list. As Tony is a steady guy when it comes to finding trivia about forgotten bands I hope he has some... Punk | Powerpop | Mod | Hard Core
The MetalSucks-sponsored Waste The World Tour (featuring Municipal Waste, with Goatwhore, Brutal Truth, Phobia and Cauldron on as support for various dates) is off to a wet start. On the tour's fifth show - Wednesday night in Houston, TX - a fan decided it'd be a good idea to climb on the pipes hanging from [...]

There's really only one way to describe The Accused – sick. That's the way it's been since 1981 when guitarist Tommy Niemeyer formed the band with his perverted friends in Oak Harbor, Washington. The Accused has always been a band that you either love or hate. Most hate, but those who love do it with a heart full of gore. Too metal for punk, too punk for metal, The Accused sound is fast and furious with vocals that sound like a zombie vomiting blood. The Accused want you to [...]
On paper, Washington's Black Breath is not the sort of band one typically associates with Southern Lord. Dronesmiths Sunn O))), doomy stoners Eagle Twin, instrumental rockers Pelican, and black metalheads Wolves In The Throne Room all coexist comfortably together on the Californian label. Yet Black Breath's hybrid of gutter-level punk and classic thrash [...]
Bummer. The Accused, who were scheduled to provide support for some (but not all!) of the dates on the MS sponsored Municipal Waste "Waste the World" tour, have been forced to drop off due to "scheduling conflicts." Oh well. The good news is that Goatwhore are still doing all dates from 11/06-11/16, Brutal Truth are still [...]
