Following a week-long delay that had us wondering whether the inaugural Peach Music Festival would take place as planned, event organizers have just announced the lineup. Set for Scranton's Montage Mountain between August 10 - 12, the Allman Brothers Band, who will play twice, will be joined by co-headliner Zac Brown Band and a slew of acts from the jam and bro worlds including O.A.R., Dark Star Orchestra, Railroad Earth, The Wailers and Dumpstaphunk. The big news on Sunday night was the Allman Brothers Band finale at the Beacon Theatre that was actually played without any Allman Brothers on stage. Rolling Stone scribe David Fricke was in attendance at Sunday's performance and was impressed at the Gregg-less show. As we reported earlier this month, the Allman Brothers Band and Live Nation are teaming up to throw The Peach Music Festival at Montage Mountain in Scranton, Penn. on August 10 - 12. The event's website was launched a few weeks back and contained a counter set to expire at noon today when the full lineup would be announced. The Allman Brothers Band's annual March Madness run closed on an unfortunate note last night as the group wound up performing without an Allman on stage at the Beacon Theatre. Founding member Gregg Allman left the stage in the middle of the second set on Saturday night and did not return. However the band didn't let Allman's injury stop them, providing fans a guest-heavy marathon finale. Yesterday, unbeknownst to us, we missed the fact that March 8th marked the 44th anniversary of Bill Graham opening the legendary Fillmore East. The venue, located on Manhattan's E. 6th Street and 2nd Avenue, which was then known as the Lower East Side, hosted just about every important and influential rock act from 1968 to 1971.
