With faintly landing percussion, and droning organs, Gospels is giving us something dark and murmuring to believe in. He just sent us this wonderfully eerie video for his song "Apparition" (from the forthcoming Frames of Reference ), which pairs the brooding soundscape with some appropriately grainy visuals. The song appears on a short compilation put together by L.A. music management company Heart Music. The release of Light Pollution 's first album Apparitions has this young band edging its way into more than just the spotlight here in Chicago. Apparitions is about as impressive as it gets for a relatively new band's debut with their own brand of psychedelic indie-rock that could be classified as "chillwave." Chicago indie-psych outfit Light Pollution premiered their new video for "Drunk Kids" over at Pitchfork.com . The song is from their debut full length, titled Apparitions , which is set to drop tomorrow, and features some lush vocals and scatter-brain guitars until a Flaming Lips-esque bridge that powers the song to the finish. Better yet, the video proves that gas station car washes can make for some pretty trippy imagery. Check out the video below:

Just listening to the latest single from his group Light Pollution gives you hints that despite all the madness and cacophony that there is an underlying since of beauty, and that becomes visible with extended listens to the underlying melodies and various hooks. The group has their debut album, Apparitions , scheduled for release on June 15h on Carpark . Judging by this song, it wlil be chock-full of experimental wonderment. [...]
