Was in Roskilde Monday and during the train ride in the morning from Helsingoer I listened to 37 of the 69 Love Songs from the Magnetic Fields triple album of the same name. Don't think I've ever listened to the entire album, but the quality of the songs I HAVE listened to is sick. Last.fm scrobbling is just one of many [...]

I'll admit it. We fell into the same trap that every magazine and blog on the planet did. The self-indulgent, we-know-what-you-should-like-b etter-than-you-do Best Albums of 2010 list. Here at TDOA headquarters, we'd like to think that we've given you some names that weren't familiar and provided you with some surprises. But at the end of the day, who better to assess the state of music than the musicians themselves? So, we reached out to every band that we interviewed in 2010 and asked them to give us their favorite albums of the year. [...]

Tweet The Spanish label Bubbletone Discos is back again with two new free releases in their Club 7 digital singles club. This time, they release 2-track singles with The Arctic Flow and Skittle Alley . I am especially fond of The Arctic Flow's dreamy indiepop, but also Skittle Alley has really good songs on his single. Like last time I wrote about this new netlabel, I have to say well done, - this [...]

Instead, these are primarily indie bands that aren't covered by the big boys..... but should be. Quick news for you to scan, with the option to follow links that'll give you more detail. Aqualung have almost completed [...]

We're fascinated by the various reactions of those artists who pioneered the "shoegaze" sound in the 80's and 90's. While they seem split, we have a firm belief. Great songwriting makes for brilliant music, regardless of the genre. While the effects pedals or the production of the song may exactly replicate the sound of a band you've heard before, it's the assemblage of notes that makes any song stand out. Which brings us to The Arctic Flow. Songs veer from ethereal beauty to pop delicacies while maintaining an dream-like quality (watch us deftly avoiding adjectives [...]

It's been a while since we had time to compile the best songs that have crossed our path recently. You'll find that we've added links to purchase some of the songs through iTunes. When that wasn't possible, we've given you the link to the band's myspace page. We're going to pass on describing the songs this time. Go in with an open mind and know that we're challenging you with the best music we could find. Grand Analog Electric City (Feat. Shad) [...]

Okay, welche Musikrichtung könnte eine Band namens The Arctic Flow wohl machen, die dazu noch eine EP mit dem Titel «I saw the silver sun» veröffentlicht? Richtig – Shoegaze.
