The Armchairs' first show and final show were similar beasts: both took place at Johnny Brenda's, on a Friday the 13th, and both involved Easter egg hunts. I was out last Friday night covering the Hezekiah Leaves and Spinning Joneses Release Party at Bookspace (which I'll have photos up for you soon), but I was very happy to be able to make it over to Johnny Brenda's to capture some amazing photos of the FINAL performance by The Armchairs . A few weeks ago Philly staples and friends of WQHS The Armchairs announced that their third to last performance as a band would come tonight at Pilam's Human BBQ. Needless to say we were distraught. But now comes breaking news from their performance at said event, with correspondent Tanya Bogin reporting live: "The Armchairs aren't breaking up. Straight from Michael Chadwick's mouth: it was an April Fools' joke." Phew.
