I am currently watching the NCAA tournament, and like many people, my bracket has been long busted. I had Louisville going to the championship game in one bracket! Being from MN I of course root for the Gophers, but when they aren't playing I cheer for the North Carolina Tarheels, so I'm happy they survived the weekend. This has been one of the most exciting opening weekends to March Madness that I can remember, there have been so many buzzer beaters and down to the wire games. Hopefully next week will be just as exciting. Tomorrow I'll be heading to [...]
Terrible band name, yes, but they've got an insanely catchy song "The Golden Age" featured in a Heineken commercial this past week. The song is actually a couple years old, but there's no time limit on an awesome track. Listen to "The Golden Age"

After and excellent debut record, Fruit , The Asteroids Galaxy Tou r are back! Hailing from Copenhagen, the band has grabbed the attention of Heineken who are currently featuring their track, "The Golden Age," in a global ad campaign titled "The Entrance." The ad did so well the Heineken sponsored a music video for the tune. Check out both videos below. enjoY!
Remember the infectiously catch song played during that dope Heineken Advert I posted a week or so back, well the video for it dropped earlier today. I know by the end of the advert you know you want to download the song, I know I did. Well to be honest, the female singing the song [...]

A helpful hint about music festivals: try as you may to see every single band you've ticked off the set schedule weeks before you've even set foot on the property, you're going to miss some, because you're either 1) hungry, 2) thirsty, 3) drunk or 4) just plain tired. While I admit to succumbing to #2 (it was hot, much hotter than it normally is in Denmark) and #4 (the only explanation for Day 2's epic oversleep), all things considered I was in pretty good shape for Saturday, especially after getting to bed at a decent hour the night [...]

The Asteroids Galaxy Tour Crazy — Crazy So I know that I just posted a song by this new obsession of mine (thanksm Jin!), but I couldn't resist putting this track up. It's a perfect song for a late Saturday morning, when you put on the shades and walk into Starbucks with a hangover that could tranquilize a whale. Yeah, I don't really know precisely what that means either, but it sounds bad. Enjoy! -Tarun
The Asteroids Galaxy Tour — Inner City Blues Nothing makes my day like a female vocalist singing the blues, even if purists would scream 'faux!' at the characterization of the genre of this song as blues. The Asteroids Galaxy Tour are a Danish (electro)pop group that standout because they feature a Saxophone, Trumpet and a lovely starlet of a lead vocalist, Mette Lindberg. By the way, you might remember them from their popular song Around [...]

Much of my SXSW experience involved getting lost, back on track and stumbling upon a band I didn't realize was playing at the time. The Mad Decent/iheartcomix/JELLY Carniville was way off the SXSW map but I finally found the Mexican Cultural Center after 45 minutes of being lost, just in time to see The Walkmen begin their set on Wednesday night (I sadly missed Kid Sister by mere minutes.) It was awesome to watch The Walkmen power through their set as the sun set on Austin...namely during everyone's favorite track The Rat. Over [...]

Recomendo ouvi-lo todo, principalmente o primeiro single, "The Sun Ain't Shining No More". Ideal para quem gosta [...]

If it weren't in the open air, I'd say the performance by Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings on Wednesday night was roof-rattling. The 53-year-old reigning queen of vintage soul gave a memorable turn at the outdoor theater at Stubb's during NPR's SXSW showcase, a night that featured an equally stirring set from the Walkmen as well as outings from Spoon, Broken Bells and Visqueen. I'm on assignment for SPIN.com this week and will be posting highlights when possible. Above, a photographic tour of the day from L.A.-based Scott Dudelson , who made the rounds from [...]
Right, they've got Smokey for the keynote address and a bunch of panels and whatnot to attend, but the ambrosia of SXSW manifests in an already-musically-inundated town soaked through to overflowing with amazing artists and music lovers from around the world, largely just for the price of getting to Austin with a comfortable pair of [...]

Filed under: Concerts and Tours Danish neo soul-funk outfit the Asteroids Galaxy Tour began in the studio with core members Lars Iversen and Mette Lindberg, and at the prompting of Amy Winehouse. The band swiftly grew into a six-piece featuring Mads Brinch Nielsen (guitar, keys), Rasmus Valldorf (drums) and horn section, Miloud Carl Sabri (trumpet) and Svend Meinild (sax). Speaking from Copenhagen after a bitterly cold and unusually long winter, 26-year-old singer Mette Lindberg tells Spinner what's up with her band [...]
You didn't think we were going to omit our weekly Friday Mixtape from the new site, did you? Sure, there's a lot of newness all around, but the formula for the Mixtape remains the same - put together week's best mix of new singles, remixes, and covers. Then, for kicks, we add mp3s from some up-and-comers you just might want to check out. Anyhow, as always, we did just that this week and are now ready to present it to you below. Enjoy! We also would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to our brand new [...]
