Fitting 50 separate riffs into 40 minutes is difficult, but making them flow together into one song is much more challenging. The Atomic Bitchwax pull it off on this uncharacteristic new release. Only certain bands are capable of releasing an album that only consists of one song and getting away with it. The bands that do are usually progressive in nature and often write songs over ten minutes in length. The Atomic Bitchwax is not progressive and usually keeps their songs to a more manageable length, but single-track album The Local Fuzz (which is also the name of the [...]

Legendary New Jersey hard rock band THE ATOMIC BITCHWAX (also TAB) will release its new album The Local Fuzz on June 21 via Tee Pee Records (the album is out now in the UK and Europe). The trio's fifth full length effort delivers an advanced take on its blistering, virtuosic sound via a single, glorious 42 minute song titled "The Local Fuzz" that contains no less than "50 riffs back to back", perfectly capturing the unit's vivid execution and ambitious vision. Recorded at the Panic Room in Neptune, NJ, The Local Fuzz pushes THE ATOMIC BITCHWAX's high-octane [...]

This self-titled debut is very impressive, offering adventurous extended jams ("The Formula") as well as frenetic blasts of energy ("Hey Alright"). Guitarist Ed Mundell might be a team player at his day job with Monster Magnet but he takes over here, displaying great versatility and chops - especially on a manic rendition of his idol Tommy Bolin's "Crazed Fandango". Highly recommended if you are truly a big fan of nice rock music, and it is therefore a good reason to have this album in your metal music archive. 4metal favourite song picks: [...]

MP3: The Warlocks - "Red Camera" from The Mirror Explodes, out May 19 on Tee Pee Records. This is a slow-burning bum trip of a jam. I've always respected Bobby Hecksher, but I prefer the Warlocks when they're making feel-good...

This is no three chord bullshit...this is the Bitchwax . I usually don't show album covers this huge, but the art on it is so freakin' cool I just had to. And as good as the cover looks, the music of The Atomic Bitchwax is even better. The almost-Rush-like sounds of this nearly ten-year-old band from Jersey are the prototype for riff mazes and walls of sound. Their new album,TAB 4, is out April 21st and it contains 11 high energy tracks of plaster-rattling rock that is the staple of the [...]

The Atomic Bitchwax - Revival. Listen: This is a terrible name for a band. I'm sorry dudes, but it's true. It's also some pretty miserable cover art. In all honesty, I'm as surprised as anyone that I listened to this song, considering those two big strikes against it. On top of all that, they're from New Jersey, which, come to think of it, is actually pretty cool. But, against all odds, I checked it out, and hot damn if it isn't a sweet jam. They take standard rock riffs, add a great melody, and double up the vocals. It's a...
