I try not to talk about my personal life that much here - I'd rather focus on the music. But if you're ever wondering about the woes of my life, you can usually get a hint from the violently-enigmatic subject titles from the past month or so. The long and the short of it is that everyone at my college makes me so mad I could punch a mentally-handicapped chimp in the face. Now, in stark contrast to that sickening statement, enjoy some pop music. Prince I Wish U Heaven [...]

"Masters of hip hop and Turntablism in their own right, Dj Shadow and Cut Chemist have joined forces for the first time since 2001 and are bringing their genre defying project, The Hard Sell , down under in April...Shadow and Cut Chemist are set to amaze Australian audiences with a daring and complex performance that sees them live on stage with 8 turntables (yes 8!), 4 mixers and an array of audio [...]

Less one day, but yay, we've turned 1! I didn't actually intend for readership to extend past two of my friends when it started, so it's been pretty cool watching the blog grow a bit and get some looks. Thanks for reading! Hopefully we'll chug along another year yet, if not more than that. I didn't do a best of 07 post or anything like that, but I think I'd like to do a personal 'Best of Disco Delicious so far' - some of the stuff Trentertainment or I have posted that I still love to bits. [...]

Possibly Australia's laziest group. The sampladelic sextet have been together more than ten years but produced only one album. The Avalanches are from Melbourne, Australia, best known for their live DJ sets and debut album Since I Left You, which was assembled from approximately 3,500 vinyl samples. The Avalanches began in 1995 as Alarm 115, a noise-punk outfit inspired by Drive Like Jehu, The Fall and Ultra Bidet. The band - Darren Seltmann, Robbie Chater, Tony Diblasi and Manabu Etoh - bought all their instruments at junk shops, where [...]
Frontier Psychiatrist Alright I could start this post off with a bunch of stupid avalanche metaphors and terribly inappropriate jokes but I wont. Instead I hope to get you folks as stoked as I am about the Avalanches sophomore release that they are currently putting the final touches on. Few has been heard from the group since their first release "Since I Left You" back in 2000 after which they have done major track releases and remixes with everyone from Belle and Sebastian to the Beastie Boys and they have been making waves with [...]

Fire Alarm, Twin Peaks 2008 I've started to reorganize my music collection, mainly cd's and vinyl. Since I've bought albums over and over again, or spent days looking for a particular album, a reorg was long overdue. Going through some of my vinyl, I've ripped them to my computer, crackles and all. I think that's part of the charm of vinyl, besides the overall warmth of the sound. Some news out there that an Arrested Development movie may be on the horizon. I'm not the biggest fan of TV, but Conan O'Brien may [...]

I got a message from Johnny Love over at GUNS'n'BOMBS the other day. He was talking about being in Chicago either this weekend or next. I tried to get further details, but didn't hear back from him. After searching around a bit, I found out courtesy of Sleazy V what the deal is. They'll be playing at The Dick House (...haha) right south of the Pink Line, go figure. It's at 2501 W.25th (Map Here) . Here's a little preview. See ya there. Guns'N'Bombs - Nothing Is Getting Us [...]

Been revisiting The Avalanches a lot in the last few weeks and I think it's no coincidence the last few weeks have been very happy times! In particular I've had the Gimix promo mix from 2000 on permanent repeat in my car, on my ipod, on my pc... Such a smooth melodic blend of singalong pop, classic rock and grooving electronic, with splashes of the album all the way through - the perfect soundtrack to a classy but casual party. Check out the blazing track listing here . Something a bit different to what I usually post, [...]

so i got a new camera. it might be stolen, though. i read about it on craigslist and purchased it in a parking lot in front of target. the guy seemed cool enough, but the thing doesn't even look used. for what i paid for it, it should have been used. the memory card was still in it's wrapper for christ's sake. oh well. i'll definitely need it this weekend. stay tuned for daft punk photos and videos! i'm going on saturday to see their show in LA. stay jealous, bitches. Avalanches – Ray of [...]
Compiling my list of favorite songs for the mid-point of 2007 proved to be a difficult task compared to last year. This time around I wanted to narrow my list to just 10, compared to the overload of songs that I chose in 2006. I asked Pablo and Eric to do the same, and though i've had their lists for a few weeks now, it's taken myself a considerable amount of time to come up with my own. The idea in your head always seems so simple until you actually sit down to compile such a measly list from what [...]

From theavalanches.com , another mix from the antipodean mixmasters.
