LODRO is an unsigned band from Brooklyn that features three of the four members of Royal Baths. LODRO plays neo-noir punk. Check out a great track ( one of three that you can find here ) from a side project (though you always hate using that phrase because it always makes people defensive about their music) of Royal Baths members Lesley Hann, Jeremy Cox, and Jigmae Baer. The songs have great atmosphere and sound a lot different than what we heard on the latest Royal Baths LP. Try out "Big Sleep For Alice" below and we'll keep you posted. [...]

The indie rock band Class of Kill'em High , hailing from Norrköping, impressed me a couple of years ago . So it's great to see that they're back with a new two-track single, and that they're also planning a few more sinlges before they release their debut album. Here's "Big Sleep". NYC indie rockers The Big Sleep released their third album, Nature Experiments , earlier this year and have been playing a number of local (and non-local) shows since. You'll have three more chances to catch the band in NYC this weekend and early next week. First, they'll support dredg at their Bowery Ballroom shows tonight (11/9) and Saturday (11/10) . At tonight's show, dredg will be performing El Cielo in full and at Saturday's, they're playing Catch Without Arms [...]

We recently had the chance to catch up with The 1975 while the band was in lock down, in the thick of recording new material, and preparing the release of their anticipated forthcoming EP, Sex . With their signature blend of R&B fused guitar pop, it's no secret that this Manchester based collective are causing a stir of excitement in the indie rock world. Title track and new single,"Sex", from their forthcoming release has been in rotation here and across the blogosophere for the last year or so in it's demo form, and the official single version was recently [...]

The 1975 keep it coming with this final and single version of their track "Sex". It's a got a bit less dynamicism than its earlier demo (released under other various guises) but it's still as catchy of a tune as can be. Sex will be the title track of the band's next EP expected November 19th. Preview this official single version (aka panty dropper) from the breakthrough Manc collective below. The 1975 ( Facebook ) [...]

We've featured these guys before. You may not remember, as they weren't The 1975 at the time. They were either B I G S L E E P or T H E S L O W D O W N, we lose track. They've had a number of problems with naming rights; apparently a load of spaces aren't sufficient to get around copyright. Thankfully this talented Mancunian quartet have settled on a name, one that's rather easier to type then their previous incarnations. Although, they do still stick to the caps locked spacing on Facebook. I'd love to know why? [...]
Things are about to get drowsy. 2012, Frenchkiss Records 4.0 / 10.0 “Come on, kid! / Meet your maker / Go on, go on, back where you belong!” So sings Danny Barria on “Meet Your Maker”, just one song from The Big Sleep’s new album, Nature Experiments that [...]

The 1975 have developed an identifiable and forward thinking cast of Manchester indie rock. The band, aka T H E S L O W D O W N and B I G S L E E P within the last year or so, will be releasing a debut EP Facedown under The 1975 guise. The band has rightfully attracted some noteworthy love from the bolosphere and tastemaker radio and their track "Sex" was easily one of our fave of 2011. Pick it up a copy of their Facedown EP August 6th and preview "The [...]
