Wobei "Rock" hier auch nicht im Sinne langweiliger Garagenrevivalcombos zu verstehen ist, denn The Big Sleep spielen eher in der atmosphärischen Liga, ohne jedoch etwa lahm daherzukommen. Wow, that was quick! The Big Sleep were on WOXY's Lounge Act (which I posted about here ) yesterday and it's already up on the site ! Listen to the Big Sleep . Their tour is wrapping up this weekend, with a stop tonight at the Nite Owl in Dayton, OH and then tomorrow night at the Brillobox in Pittsburgh. The Big Sleep is also one of those New York bands that I see every chance I get. I just saw them last night at NYU, which kicked off their tour. If you are not familiar, they play mostly instruemental tracks with occassional lyrics. I wioud liken them to the simple repetition of The Fall or the sweeping compositions of Explosions in the Sky or even Secret Machines. Let's hope they bring their flood lights with them. This week has one of the most packed concert schedules I have ever seen. It is fully loaded from Monday to Sunday with some fantastic band playing somewhere in the city every night.
