LA dream-pop duo The Bird And The Bee recently revamped their official site. To celebrate that, they made an amusingly geeky welcome video. However, the best part is they uploaded a bunch of rarities on Soundcloud! The highlight is an unreleased cover of Madonna's "Material Girl". It's a fun '80s take, complete with 8-bit synths [...]

As you may have heard, this past weekend, Turntable Kitchen, graffEats and FoxconSox hosted a series of underground supper clubs titled "Covers" :: a dinner of culinary and musical tribute :: for the Noise Pop Festival. For Turntable Kitchen, it was our first ever physical "real world" event. Here was the concept: the chefs from [...]

My earliest music memory is of being a six-year-old in a U-Haul van. My family was moving to San Antonio, and we had just hit the reemergence of civilization from in between the hundreds of miles of nothing that Texas is famous for. My mom turned on the radio and I remember hearing and loving Maneater by Hall and Oates . I was just a dumb kid that didn't really understand how the radio worked, so I sat there expecting to hear the song play again relatively soon after. It didn't. Bummer. [...]

As a musical proposition it doesn't get much better than the Bird and the Bee. A twosome with loads of connections Inara George and Greg Kurstin are also adept in the songwriting department but despite all this widespread attention has thusfar evaded them. Not many bands that appear here have an appearance on Ellen to their name (maybe they've seen the show) but the Bird and the Bee has the distinction of sharing the stage with the grossly unfunny one. But it's the music rather than the hobnobbing that we're here for and when they nail it the honey floweth [...]
Here's a collection of my favorite love songs. The first four were really the driving force to make this list, but every one of 'em is sexy as hell. The list ranges from contemporary R&B to classic rock to trip-hop instrumentals and everything in-between. Although, all of them won't be appreciated by everyone, I guarantee you'll each find a gem of your own. If I get enough response out of this, I'll make up more of these love makin' lists - there were many I couldn't include due to [...]

PODSUMOWANIE 2010 | PŁYTY | EPki | PIOSENKI Przed Wami ostatnia część muzycznego podsumowania ubiegłego roku na Louder Than Bombs - piosenkowy elementarz 2010. Zapraszamy do czytania, słuchania, oglądania, a w połowie lutego planujemy złapać w końcu kontakt z nowym, [...]

La banda conformada por Greg Kurstin e Inara George está preparando con todo su regreso a las bateas, trabajando lentamente en el seguidor de Ray Guns Are Not Just the Future , su último disco del 2009. The Bird and The Bee habló con Spinner acerca de su nuevo disco, del cual todavía no fueron revelados muchos detalles, y confirmó que tienen varias canciones de las cuales elegir. La banda lanzó, el año pasado, un [...]

Myspace Toronto's venerable Wavelength might have closed out their weekly showcase series last year in favour of intermittent events throughout the year, but they've not given up their tradition of throwing a killer birthday party or five. As they've done in years past, Wavelength Eleven (or event #415 if you're keeping track) will commandeer venues around this city from February 16 through 20 and fill them with many of the finest acts the city and outlying regions have to offer, spanning all styles and genres, frequently on the same bill. [...]

Filed under: News , New Music , Exclusive The Bird and the Bee intend to follow their covers set, 'Interpreting the Masters, Vol. 1: A Tribute to Daryl Hall and John Oates ,' with a new studio album in 2011. "We love covers, but we love writing our own music. Making a covers record was a good way to break it up," singer Inara George tells Spinner. "It was a nice way to take a breather but [...]

Looking back at all the music I added to my collection in 2010, it's obvious that this past year was more about digging up classics than discovering new material for me. But that doesn't mean I wasn't listening or looking. There actually were quite a few releases this year that caught the full attention of my ears and heart, even if I was being a stubborn curmudgeon. I didn't want to do a "Best of" list, since that would seem somewhat pompous of me ( and it's really just a matter of personal preference anyway ). So instead [...]
Tis the season for our annual Christmas mix. Here's some past favorites along with a few new ones. Best Coast and Wavves - Got Something For You Bishop Allen - You'll Never Find My Christmas Bright Eyes - Blue Christmas [...]

Toronto - 2010 was a pretty good year for music, yet many of my musical highlights involved music that was not new or at least new music by older artists. It was a year that saw numerous band reunions - I saw Thrush Hermit, Soundgarden, Swans, Suede and X Japan - as well as the return of bands who had been away long enough that it seemed like a reunion (Teenage Fanclub). Still, although I spent much of my time looking back, there was a lot of new stuff to get excited about this year. So here's list of some stuff I liked. [...]

It's that time again! Following are my Top 25 Albums of 2010. Like 'em or not, these are the albums I've personally enjoyed and listened to most often in the past year. Click on the album titles to read the full reviews, purchase the albums, and, in some cases, download mp3s… *Honorable mention to Florence + the Machine's Lungs , which would have been #2 on this list had it been released this year. Muruch's Top 25 Albums of 2010 25. Sheila [...]
The Bird and the Bee - " Rich Girl " I chose this song to post to represent my favorites of 2010 for one reason: I haven't posted a Bird and the Bee track from this album yet! Clever, I know. This is also one of my favorite Hall and Oates songs. Double win. I feel like this album came and went pretty quickly. Released in March, there are 9 tracks, with one being an original, I posted it on my blog a few weeks ago. Check it out here . This album [...]
With the year just about wrapped up, we here at Idolator decided to get together, pore over our individual iPods and revisit the music that got us motivated in 2010. Perhaps some of the following 10 albums weren't the most critically acclaimed , but they were ones that inspired our hopes, heart-felt dreams and repeated plays while we navigated Planet Pop here on the website each day over the past 12 months. And so, in no particular order other than alphabetical... ERIKA'S PICK: [...]
