Tickets for the first inaugural Interlocken music festival will be released in two waves, with the initial "artist-presale" opening May 22nd, and general "early-bird" access going on sale May 23rd. The four-day bash will be held on Oak Ridge Farm in Arrington, VA just south of Charlottesville. Interlocken is a new four-day music festival, set for September 5th - 8th in Central Virgina, "with an emphasis on world class music, locally sourced food and sustainability." The inaugural lineup is headlined by Neil Young and Crazy Horse, Grateful Dead offshoot Furthur, and The Black Crowes, who'll appear alongside Zac Brown Band, The String Cheese Incident, and many more artists still to be announced. Back on April 21, The Black Crowes presented a guest-laden acoustic performance at Nashville's historic Ryman Auditorium that turned out to be one for the ages. Included among the many debuts on that fateful evening was the Crowes' first-ever take on bob Dylan's Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues. The Black Crowes kicked off a two-night stand at the iconic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville last night and brought out a special guest with them. Saturday's show was an all-electric rocker as opposed to tonight's gig which is the Crowes' only announced all-acoustic performance. Ironically, tonight's show is billed as "with Special Guests," but that didn't stop the band from welcoming legendary guitarist Peter Frampton out to jam with them on a four-song string towards the end of their set. Last night The Black Crowes' Lay Down With Number 13 tour rolled into The Windy City for the first of two shows at The Vic. The band continues to slowly expand their repertoire for the tour and last night offered a surprise cover debut of a Rolling Stones classic. The Crowes lit into their first-ever version of Jumpin' Jack Flash out of Descending last night and video of the cover debut has already surfaced. On Friday night the group performed at the Electric Factory in Philadelphia, where they delivered a three-song encore that included a cover of Oh! Sweet Nuthin' by The Velvet Underground.
