It's almost that time of year again... that's right, Thanksgiving is just around the corner with the rest of the holiday season following hot on its heels. It's good to be back to regular posts just in time for the holidays. Food, family, friends, and drinks. So, last year I posted an awesome roast turkey recipe , and this year I wanted to post my mom's vegan pumpkin pie recipe, but I have no idea where it is. So here is one of my other favorite pie recipes (courtesy of my mother)... and some songs. Heck, [...]

With Thanksgiving now less than two weeks away, I figured it was about time to repost my tried and true recipe for brined and roasted turkey. So what if I ganked the original recipe from the amazing Alton Brown a few years ago. I've made enough delicious changes that it really feels like mine though. I'm still thinking about the possibility of cooking something else a little less traditional for Thanksgiving... something like a Bacon Explosion perhaps. (Yum!) And my mother's vegan pumpkin pie to balance it all out. Oh yeah! Here's the recipe: [...]

Last Friday I announced the line-up of bands for this years Deep Blues Festival . Earlier this week I bought my plane tickets for Minneapolis. That said, I really do believe in DBF, in what Chis is doing and in the bands playing it so I will take every opportunity to pimp it. Hence Deep Blues Fridays. On select Fridays between now and the festival I will feature [...]
Yes, this is a recipe for brined and roasted turkey with a musical accompaniment, but I'd rather call it Can You Eat the Turkey From the Southside? Seriously folks, Thanksgiving is less than two weeks away. So I've had deep-fried turkey (good), smoked turkey (even better), but my favorite way to cook a turkey for Thanksgiving (or even Christmas) is brined and roasted. Yes, I'll admit that I ganked the original recipe from the amazing Alton Brown a few years ago, but I've made some minor (and delicious) changes. Here's the recipe: [...]

Coming in the shadow of the great Coachella announcement of 2008 was that the Deep Blues Festival has added 2 more band to their line-up: The Black-Eyed Snakes : This is a band who I just recently heard of after a fellow blogger referenced them in a Left Lane Cruiser review. Very similar frantic garage-blues sound. The Black-Eyed Snakes - Chicken-Bone George Those Poor Bastards : YES! ninebullets.net's favorite prophets of doom country are coming to the show! I can not tell [...]
