"I'm looking for something that'll…break through. You know?" James Woods' Max Renn yearns in David Cronenberg's 1983 cult classic Videodrome . Oh, how things have changed. In today's day and age, we've already drowned in media. It's swallowed us. We're nothing but a bubble amidst one infinite, engulfing abyss. Intimidated? You should be. With each passing second, you're losing opportunities to take advantage of a culture that's moving ahead and at an exhausting rate. You could very well be alone…left behind…abandoned. Terrified yet? Yes? Well, that's more like it. -Michael Roffman President/Editor-in-Chief [...]

It's no secret that FOX has a habit of canceling its best shows (to this day I still want to have a serious talking to with whoever decided Arrested Development had run its course). And after a recent Lie to Me obsession this summer, I was devastated to find there was no Season 4 to continue my marathon. So consider this playlist Part 1 of a final lament to yet another show that ended before its time. Lie to Me is a drama centered around Dr. Cal Lightman (Tim Roth - [...]
the internet really is the only place to discover new music. there is no more "music television" (like the old Mtv) and broadcast radio just plain sucks. they play the same old crap in every cookie-cutter format. you won't find many television channels dedicated to music unless you are paying for a satellite subscription service. but music videos are alive and well on the web. i promised to post some more good stuff and here it is. brand new music videos! i hope that readers of this blog take [...]
Get More: The Black Keys , Gold On The Ceiling , Music , More Music Videos As Rob Harvilla sagely pointed out: the The Black Keys are every writer's seventh favorite band . We here at the Passion of the Weiss are no different. Should you disagree, I will point you to Chulahoma , the best psychedelic blues album of the last decade (out of three made total). I have no clue what "Gold on the Ceiling" means, but it sounds like a Rick Ross invention. [...]
I'm still amazed at the Black Keys' rise to superstar status. These guys are playing the freaking United Center in March! I do like the song Gold on the Ceiling off El Camino . (I have a feeling I'll be sick of it soon enough, though.)
The Black Keys dropped a new video for Gold On The Ceiling , from their latest LP, El Camino . It follows the boys around in one of them "day in the life" things. Check it.

The New Orleans band outdid itself in San Diego // Follow Owl and Bear on Facebook and Twitter for contests, MP3s, and links that don't make it onto the blog.

The Black Keys by Julia Stryj By Julia Stryj February 4, 2012 Last Saturday I woke up with a huge smile on my face in anticipation of what should be a fantastic gig by The Black Keys and Band Of Skulls in the evening. When it started snowing just before lunch time I was getting worried I might not make it up to Edinburgh for the evening, but gladly the snow stopped and I set off early to get there in time for doors [...]

The new Black Keys album has been a joy to the ears as well as the eyes with the first official video going mega-viral and now we've got a more conventional yet great visual aide for Gold on the Ceiling. I'm sure the festival schedule is lining up nicely and with some luck some of our choices will ensure we get to see them on stage! www.youtube.com/watch?v=6yCIDk FI7ew

QuESt & 2dopeboyz.com present a 4 part video series Part 1: The Black Keys' "Ten Cent Pistol" "Fear Not Failure" coming soon. NEATO.
The Black Keys are known for strong opinions and captivating live performances. I've never had the opportunity to see them live, but from what I've heard they're one of the best in the business at working a crowd. El Camino continues to get a ton of play over here, and "Gold On The Ceiling" is a prime culprit for this. Check the official visuals for the duo's jam below. Tweet
