We hooked up with Sam Potter sci-fi programmer from the legendary late of the pier who is now working with Binaural pioneers Swimming signed to Tummy Touch records to find out what he has been upto recently and to find out more about his 'blackout' project. So you have recently joined Swimming how did that come about and what are you upto at the moment? I met John and his with Ronika a few months ago and haven't left their [...]

![THE WHIP – Blackout (Graham Massey Remix) [Southern Fried]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4090970_lg.jpg)
As part of the legendary stable known as 808 State , Graham Massey created more euphoric pleasure on stage than the former sex shows did at Manumission, Privilege (Ibiza) back in the Noughties. Harnessing a terrifying and exhilarating harmony that can be suited on many enjoyable dance floors, this Underworld-esque melody fires out more punch to what Brock Lesnar would do on the Legend setting of WWE '12. A perfect remix for a faultless electronic group. THE WHIP - Blackout (Graham Massey Remix)

The Hyperbits guys are back with another well produced bootleg that makes the original even better. This time they've taken "The Promise," Joe Garston's new single which has been hitting the top of the charts on Beatport this past month, and the acapella from Breath Carolina's "Blackout." The result is another mashup that appears to be an original tune in its own right. As always, Hyperbits is giving the MP3 away for free if you like them on Facebook at www.facebook.com/hyperbits . This one's a banger, so turn it up! Joe [...]
From Budapest, Ego Shot Recordings the digital sub-label of Morphosis Records have yet another release out and this time it comes from German techno lover @Bosonmusic who grew up on breakbeats and wishes to keep these genres together, fusing them with his production know-how. The original version of 'Blackout' is a deep, dark and industrious release which rolls along in a solid fashion with a few teasing clicks and bleeps piercing through the abrasive beats with the occasional female vocal sample injecting the word "bitch" every now and [...]

Words by Rick Moslen I recently overheard some old lady on the bus spew some nonsense about how 2012 marks the end of the world. Maybe she's a Glenn Beck fanatic or the wife of some cult leader, but she was more-than-likely confusing "end of the world" with 2012's other important event: "the 30th anniversary of K Records"—obviously. Avoiding aging traits like receding hairlines, bedwetting, and excessive ear hair, the graceful label still holds its charm thanks to an array of hip songwriters ( Karl Blau, Mirah, Atlas Sound, Jeremy Jay ), [...]

Creativity can only be appreciated if it is original. Interpretation can only be of worth if no-one thought that way first. The execution is a notch on the bedpost of the idea. The future? Even the past wasn't so illiberal. Solomun - Blackout / BUY image : i like this blog

Wikipedia has gone dark, and along with that site, plenty of others are standing in solidarity today to oppose the SOPA/PIPA bills making their way through Congress ( Reddit , TwitPic , Mozilla , BoingBoing , Google and thousands of others ). Count us as one of them. The bills threaten the very nature of the Internet we all know and love and are nothing but misguided attempts by the entertainment/media industries to curb piracy. If the bills pass, however, into law, it's censorship of the Internet the likes which would take years to [...]

Tweet From 23:59 tonight until 23:59 tomorrow (Wednesday 18th), Listen Before You Buy will be taking part in the SOPA/PIPA protests by doing a full site blackout for 24 hours. Chances are as you make your way around the internet during Wednesday you'll see a bunch of [...]

Can I just start off by saying how much I love this band? About a month ago, I was looking for a show to go to. Voxhaul Broadcast popped up for one of the one's that night. So, I checked them out online and immediately fell in love. Hands down, one of my best shows yet. Especially since I got to stand directly in front of David Dennis (lead singer) the whole time. A very indie band, they're mainly composed of soul, psychedelic, and rock sounds. Their songs are catchy, and feel good. Blackout [...]

The recently released Mike Posner remix of the Knocks' track "Blackout" has all the hallmarks of a classic Ke$ha track - synth & keyboard heavy hooks, Britney Spears-esque basslines, and lyrics that could have come out of a 16 year old's idea of what going to a club is like. What I mean to say is, the music stays great, while the verses (which are not part of the original song)... well, leave something to be desired. Maturity, if you will. Better instead to check out the original "Blackout," which doesn't really depart from what's laid out in [...]

By combining jazz, funk, and hip hop elements, Blackout (led by the great vibraphonist and marimba player Stefon Harris) created a unique kind of jazz that appeals to people who may never consider themselves jazz fans on their 2009 album Urbanus . Instead of the complex harmonies and virtuosity most modern jazz is concerned with (which can alienate casual listeners), Blackout focus on creating danceable, fun songs on this record. Urbanus's first track, "Gone," is a Gil Evans composition, from the Miles Davis version of Porgy and Bess, performed with electronic keyboard sounds and a funk feel [...]
