The Books & Jose Gonzalez: "Cello Songs" "Cello Song" was originally recorded by the late, great Nick Drake in 1969 for his album Five Leaves Left.  In 2009 The Books , an synth-cello band (yep, synth-cello), and Jose Gonzalez , a Singer-Songwriter cover that song for an compilation album, Dark Was the Night .  The compilation was put together for the Red Hot Organization – an international charity dedicated to raising money and awareness for HIV and AIDS.  It features 31 original songs from the likes of Spoon, Feist, Grizzly Bear, and Arcade Fire.  [...]
