It has to be said, I was overcome with a serious case of the vapors last year when I got word Atlanta's The Booze had broken up. All of us here at MOKB were somewhat rabid fans of their gutsy, heart-felt, party-soaked rock n'roll. So it's both to my relief and delight to see main-man Randy Michael, who was the songwriter, lead guitarist and back-up vocalist for The Booze (not to mention a former bass player for both Public Enemy and Butch Walker) wasted no time jumping right back into the studio, yet putting [...]

[We are proud to have the nearly award winning Pete Collins on board for this review. His interjections are cleverly formatted in italics for your extra pleasure. Normally, he can be found here . Plus some of the pictures are his] With home printed programmes, highlighted with our preferences for the running order, we discussed our day at Sounds From The Other City with a warm up pint. What we should've done is fashion said printouts into little boats and sent them down the bloody Irwell given the use they were - this turned into [...]

If "I'm a Cliché" were a home, "Fit" would be the guest room. Cosmo Vitelli's very own label I'm a Cliché has decided to start a new series called "Fit". The first volume gathers four dance tracks made by different people based in various countries: Hardway Bros' track "A Diabolical Liberty", Naum Gabo's (the studio project of Jonnie Wilkes) "Iris", and Booze's "Side Effect". There's one more: Liv Spencer (Still Going) and Max Pask (Populette), join forces under the moniker of Spencerpask to create a powerful tune called "Way Too Long" - perfect for a long night drive on a [...]

Wine and cheese pair well together. But put a robust wine and an oddball rock musician together and you've got something epic.… [ Read more ] [ Subscribe to the comments on this story ]

Marking his professional transition to full-time boozehound, we got this tip from former music editor-turned-bar owner Ezra Caraeff. Need a little help with what you're drinking? Try Drinkify , which pairs music with a beverage. Punch in what you're listening to, and the handy database comes up with the ideal pairing. A few kinks*, though: There's a "turn music off" switch, but I don't hear any music playing to begin with. And some of the drink choices are a little, uh, strange . Punching in "Thin Lizzy" doesn't result in either Irish whiskey or [...]

"As every backpacker knows, bringing alcohol out on the trail has one obvious downside — and it's not a potential hangover in the wilderness. It's weight. Hardcore backpackers may scoff at the idea of weighing down their packs with alcohol, but if you have your heart set on campsite cocktails, check out our helpful guide to backpacking with booze. " This is how camping and hiking should be.

Despite the head-scratching nature of the new venture, you've gotta admit there's something sort of endearing about the idea of Motörhead frontman Lemmy curling up for a cozy night in with a bottle o
Bands can't make a living off record sales anymore. That seems to be a forgone conclusion. So, now these bands and their representation are looking for new avenues to license the band's music, and likeness for profit. KISS built an empire on this! So it comes as no surprise that bands are getting into the ...
Filed under: News , New Music , Exclusive , Q + A The Ely Brothers Lydia Loveless likes booze, making men cry and Steve Earle , and all three play a part on her new album, 'Indestructible Machine.' It's a riveting collection of brawny rock 'n' roll songs shot through with a hearty dose of twang. Also, Loveless (her real name) has a voice powerful enough to knock down walls, [...]

I had the opportunity to spend the last few days in Reno Nevada for a business conference. For this Noo Yawk boy, the chance to breathe some clean air, win some money at the casino, dig some nature and drink my ass off was irresistible. (I did not meet any of these guys) Well, the air out there sucks, I lost every bet I made and I didn't have the chance do any communing with Mom Nature. At least I was [...]
The Booze is kind of like the Vines meeting Jet—with sideburns from 1969. Tambourines, guitar solos and a tangy punk vocalist make the Booze a refreshing homage to the great music of yesteryear. The video for "Wild One" is complete with roller-rink lights, interracial threesomes and guns. This retro-tastic Atlanta band is signed to Underrated [...]

The summer is over. It's all done. Here's the summertime memory for you from Turf War . In the ATL, via the Augusta, GA. They got in touch with Old Flame Records at SXSW 2011. That's some career-crazy. Turf War: Stimulating crinkled southern garage carousing. People that love some Lonnie Walker, some Ryan Adams, some Titus A will be at peace with Turf War. BTW, Old Flame is having a great year . All of their bands are solid. Turf War adds to their impressive list. The Turf War disc is [...]

Admittedly, I can't write about whiskey with nearly the grace of Romeo. Hell, when you ask for nose my only answer is, " I dunno. It smells like whiskey. " I'm not sure I've ever actually tasted "charcoal" or any nutty undertones in my whiskey, though I will readily admit some are quite sweeter than others. Perhaps my whiskey palate has been damaged or so trained to ignore the bad that comes from bottom shelf bourbons that it's almost mute. Either way, I wanted to drop a few lines about a new whiskey from Jim Beam called " [...]

This one's been lurking on the web for a little while, but it's worth posting for several reason, not the least of which is the fact that we love The Booze here at MOKB. Secondly, the Atlanta quint will be bringing their patented swagger and preen to Rock Lobster, right here in Naptown, tonight. A must see show methinks, particularly if thou believes thou to be a Wild One . The Booze on Tour Aug 4 - Indianapolis, IN - Rock Lobster [...]

Suff Daddy at Splash Festival (Photography by Robert Winter) Episode 72 mit Suff & Miles by RadioLoveLove Ok, so i tried to write the last episode of the underground chronicles quicker than the last one, but i totally failed.
