I thought long and hard about what I wanted to post as my weekend mix of music this week, and then I ran out of time so I decided to compile a list of my five favorite songs ever and compete them with my five current songs. Well there really is no comparison. The five favorite songs ever are just held to such a lofty standard that the new ones can't even compete. They try, but pretty much fail at every turn. Still, it makes for ten really solid songs for you guys to listen to this weekend. Also, feel [...]

On sunday, I, along with a couple of friends, attended my first music festival. This may seem pretty strange for someone who writes a music blog, but things like festivals are in short supply in this corner of the country. Earlier on the year, I read about the Electric Gardens Festival. It's a new event, a two day specialist festival covering dance and electronica on the first day and more traditional indie rock fare on the second day. It shouldn't take a genius to figure out exactly which day we attended. As such, early on [...]
I'm one tired little blogger boy right now, so this will be somewhat of a short post. I'm not one for words, so why don't we just get straight to what we both love best: the music. Forever Young - Youth Group Hard To Explain (Acoustic Version) - The Strokes Rear Moth - Psapp Tundra - Squarepusher Just A Ride - Jem LA Correction Exchange [...]
Grey's Anatomy has got to be one of the guiltiest pleasures on TV. It's a silly soap opera with pretty people and mostly ridiculous situations and dammit if I can't stop watching. On the plus side it has some pretty fantastic music. Enjoy! Cue the music! Cosy In The Rocket - Psapp I Hear The Bells - Mike Doughty Blood And Peanut Butter - BC Camplight [...]
The Boy Least Likely To appear to be on track to re-release each one of their singles twice, next up is "Hugging My Grudge" which if the re-release of "Be Gentle With Me" is any indication will feature a couple of fine b-sides. Plus you get another cool video featuring the animals on the album cover coming to life so who's gonna complain? Watch the video below and here a couple of songs from

The new issue of Q is out and it's "The '80s Issue" with a picture of True Blue era Madge on the cover. Also on the cover -- stuck to it with that rubber booger stuff -- is a CD featuring 15 '80s songs covered by today's artists, exclusively for Q. This is why I bought it because this once great magazine is now fairly lame. So is this '80s covers CD. I haven't heard of half the new bands on it -- Orson ? Neal Casal ? Clayhill [...]

As part of their ‘80s Issue’, Q Magazine has attached a free CD with modern covers of 80s tracks. Featuring the likes of The Futureheads, Teddy Thompson, Placebo and The Boy Least Likely To. Some of the covers have been released before by the artists as B sides, whereas others have been recorded especially for Q. Tracklist: 1. Orson - I Can't Go For That (No Can Do) 2. The Futureheads - Let's Dance (David Bowie cover, specially [...]

Boulder is a quintessential, pedestrian friendly college town. Colorful shops line the promenade on Pearl St. omitting the intrusion of strip-mall edifices giving the town that special feel that is often lacking in American cities. Street corners settled by assemblages of youths hint of the nearby ivory towers . Locals and proud alumni forever praise their “funky town†and pledge to “keep Boulder weird,†though not directly. Lobbying occurs via psychedelic bumper stickers. Boulder’s brethren can be found keeping it weird in Austin, Charlottesville, and Athens, GA. Did I mention the hippies? [...]

Boy Least Likely To - Faith (Live in Boulder, CO 6.6.06) Every female born after 1975 has (a) â€" performed George Michael's "Faith" at a karaoke bar; (b)- sang with drunk girlfriends at a bar, dancing in a circle while spilling along; or (c) â€" done either of the previous two things while at a panty slumber party with her friends. I suppose if you are a gay man the same situations apply. [...]
