If somehow you haven't yet heard about Australian prodigy Walden , here is your chance to become fully acquainted with the young producer. At the ripe old age of 14 he started to become serious about electronic music production and not long after that his music was discovered by NYC based Big Beat Records. His ultra catchy tune ' Brightness ' was featured by Pete Tong during his Essential Selection in January and ever since then Walden has been on the rise. With a knack for creating progressive gems that inspire great support, read below about what Walden has [...]

Some really intricate sounds coming out of Melboune electronica/folk duo Brightly. You may be familiar with their track ' Tokyo ' which was accompanied by a great clip made out of old footage from war times. Brightly, which is made up of Charlie Gleason and Nic Lam , have just released two new tracks, 'Sarah' and 'Doubt'. Both starkly different, 'Sarah' displays the more pop side of brightly whilst 'Doubt' shows off the more ambient soundscape that Brightly bring to the fore so to speak, including some killer sax work. You can catch [...]

Juke. Footwork. Future garage. Post-dubstep. Purple. Moombahton. 2011 was the year when the old certainties of genre finally crumbled for good, leaving behind a bizarre, heady melange of music that could only be defined or tied – in the absolute loosest sense of the words – by rhythms and beats per minute. Not even the club nights or DJs through which listeners might be exposed to the music were a surefire signature of what it actually was. For some, this made things difficult. Music journalists, for example – and I'm as guilty as any of this – discovered a way [...]

From their very inception, the Canadian duo Art Department have known success. Individually, the two enjoyed a bit of it throughout the 90's and 00's as figures in the Toronto house and techno scenes. But it was not until Johnny White and Kenny Glasgow came together to form Art Department that the two experienced the type of success one can only dream about. Just a handful of months after

h2>Nubian Haze Comments: Interesting to say the least. Arriving with my regular batch I only got a small sample of this strain, but it made itself known quickly. The "nubian" aspect of the name is mostly ironic as you can see in the pictures, this strain is densely coated with bright white trichomes and doesn't have a trace of darker/purple colouring anywhere. It breaks up fairly well, rolls nicely, and smells really crisp. With about an 80% snappability factor, it was definitely given time to cure, but maybe could have used another week.
Smokey Brights ::: photo by Abbey Simmons Sitting in my house with gloves on, its hard to believe this was just a little over a month ago. These photos and videos got buried in Bumbershoot and Doe Bay Session editing, but with the chill of fall upon us I dove into editing and uploading shots and [...]

A single guitar hook usually sells me, but in the case of The Shiny Brights – I'm sold by much more than that. Let me tell you, there's nothing lethargic about the music they play; it's raw, it's in your face and it's travelling at serious velocity. If you don't believe me ask the guys, they describe their show was 'a bull in a china shop'. Having supported artists like The Wombats, The Vines, The Living End, The Grates and many more, The Shiny Brights are no stranger to the big stage. They rehearse in a [...]

I was born and raised in Seattle, I can deal with some gray and rain with the most stoic of people, but after last years summer fake out, I'm fiending for t-shirt weather [...]
