San Francisco bluegrass quintet The Bothers Comatose will release their sophomore album Respect the Van on May 22nd, and have scheduled the official release party for this Saturday at Great American Music Hall . Sioux City Kid and Tiny Television will open to kick the night off. Check out the video for "The Scout" (off Van ) below. The band is a product of brothers Alex and Ben Morrison's family acoustic parties, which heavily influence their current bluegrass-folk fusion sound. [...]
Yeah! It's finally time for this year's High Sierra Music Festival up in Quincy, CA, and my crew in Camp Cock Awe has already secured a healthy chunk of Big Meadow to get ready for the music starting today at 12pm noon. My out-of-office is officially on and I'll only get a minor chance to check in on what's happening at Phish Super Ball IX (for coverage, stay up on the twitters and especially @YEMblog and @ohkeepahblog) because of the awesome disconnection factor that comes with a weekend away in the mountains. I like to [...]

I'll be honest, this cd probably would have ended up getting buried in my "I need to listen to that" pile and forgotten about had it not been for a very timely follow up email from Ben. Perhaps it was fate, I don't know. All I know is that right now I am looking at an "I need to listen to it" pile that gets bigger by the day and I'm wondering how many gems like Songs From The Stoop are buried in it. The Brothers Comatose is comprised of [...]

If The Sun Will Shine devrait plaire aux amateurs d'un folk ancré dans les traditions et plus largement à tous ceux qui savent être sensible à
