The cream of the British metal crop on a Friday night in Islington. Yeah, of course we were there. And Sylosis and Malefice did alright as it goes...

It's been real nice hearing about the considerable progress made by members of The Chapters on album number 2. There's likely to be line-up changes for the second album but I'm delighted the band are keeping things going and have the majority of the songs ready for the second album. Here's a reminder of the sound from the band whose debut album I still adore. Moving [...]

Along with Sicklove, is Isaac James , a four-piece rock group from the Kansas City, MO. and Des Moines, IA. areas. Their new single, 'The Rain' can be purchased HERE via their website. These guys are no strangers to the venue, as one will discover why while browsing their website. In addition, an STL favorite the Midwest Avengers along with a group from Scott City, Mudshov3l are on [...]
"BIG PANTS WASTE PRECIOUS FABRIC" Step into my Nocturnus time machine and take a magical journey with me into a time long, long ago, an excursion into a world that scarcely resembles our own. In this world - we'll call it Moshtopia - hardcore kids are known for wearing giant, baggy pants, not skinny jeans; [...]
A couple of days back we posted part one of Seu Jorge ("City of God," "Life Aquatic"),The Independent Film Channel's IFC.com is hosting an exclusive premiere of the second short film based on the recently released Seu Jorge and Almaz album on Now-Again Records. The films star Jorge and were directed by Kahlil Joseph. This [...]
Craker, sort son troisième album intitulé « A collection of Monsters ».

This little guide to Villagers will attempt to tell the story of the band as they break into new territories and ride the wave that is the Mercury Music prize nomination. Conor O'Brien is Villagers. He fronted the Indie band The Immediate whose debut album 'In Towers and Clouds' from 2006 was well received by the media and went onto getting a Choice Award Nomination. The band split in 2007. Conor then went onto being an integral part of Cathy Davey's tour band and musical collaborator for her most recent [...]

And now three reasons to throw on your poncho and dance your way on over to the Double Door this evening for quite the eclectic lineup... 1. It's Tuesday. The work week is still on its upside. Thanks heavens the Double Door's No Dough Rock Show is here to rescue us from the monotony so close to the biggest Chicago fest of the summer. Tonight, Chicago's Dr. Killbot bring their silly sounds, and their self-appointed moniker "king of Electro-Nerd-Punk", to the stage tonight. Accordions and banjos abound, Dr. Killbot [...]
With Oxegen 2010 just one day away, I thought I'd help remind you of what makes the festival so special. This list is for those of us who are not going, and also those of us who are busy packing those last essential items before we have to get the Dublin Bus to the campsite [...]

To celebrate, there will be some great acts playing over the weekend in Blanchardstown, as well as live music on Sunday 4th of July in Tallaght. There's great line-ups at both venues, and it's sure to be a wonderful weekend to catch some new Irish music. If there's one thing The Chapters can be admired for, besides their music, it's their determination. Having met in college, the band had been building to the release of their debut album for some time, but it almost didn't happen for them. In 2008 the Dublin-based band gigged to large crowds nationwide supporting Neil Young, Cathy Davey, Chuck Berry and, of course, The Coronas to name but a few. On the back of interest in their single "Looking for Love", the band entered into negotiations with a promising new company. Demos were recorded, [...]
You've probably heard by now that Viatrophy have decided to split up. Which is why Tom Dare made sure he caught the band's last-ever London show. It's not always the best or most exciting bands who garner most attention and success. Viatrophy's untimely demise and the manner in which London bids them farewell is hard evidence of [...]
