Regresamos al éter tras mes y medio de parón. No pasa ná.

Led by the crazed and talented Nathan Willett, the California band Cold War Kids has released its third album "Mine Is Yours". Their new single "Skip The Charades" is taken from it and has a video to accompany it as well. Here is a stream of the whole album: Tweet
Cold War Kids have premiered the music video for " Skip the Charades ". The track is the latest single off the band's third studio album ' Mine Is Yours '. Watch the music video above.

cold war kids - skip the charades [taken off their 'mine is yours' album, this track definitely sees the band expanding their sound into a more mainstreamed arena. nothing wrong with that, in fact i'm hoping it'll broaden their appeal into the success they truly deserve! btw, LOVE nathan willett's voice!] http://feeds.feedburner.com/Wo ngiesMusicWorld
O Cold War Kids já filmou um trailer em Hang Me Up to Dry , e agora retorna com algo no estilo de behind the scenes, em Skip The Charades , segundo single do Mine is Yours . O vídeo abre e mais parece um making of que realmente um clipe, mas basta a música tomar espaço, que é percebitivel que essa era a intenção original deles, e acaba-se tornando uma forma de se retratar a banda através das lentes das câmeras. Cold War Kids just released a video for 'Skip The Charades', the second single from their new 'Mine Is Yours' album. The track is probably the most straightforward thing I have heard the Californians perform but definitely has a certain charm to it. The video, directed by Moh Azima is adopts an equally simplistic approach relying on [...]
The first time I heard an advance of Cold War Kids' third album "Mine Is Yours" last fall, "Skip the Charades" stood out as its thematic core. A simple plea for emotional truth, deftly executed, spiked with Jonnie Russell's pinprick guitars and soaring on Nathan Willett's aching vocals. Willett has not been a married man for very long, but anybody in a committed relationship with understand "At home we tap-dance on broken glass." ||| Live: Cold War Kids play the FYF Fest in downtown L.A. on Sept. 3

Tweet Charades is not a nice game. It produces pain, suffering and marriage problems. Children cry, animals get kicked, furniture gets destroyed and dignity slowly backs out of the room. So next time someone suggest a game of charades make for the exits, seriously break out of that place. No good can come from that scenario. If, however, charades gets sprung on you, or if you show weakness and allow the game to suck you in a little then I have a strategy. You want to know what it is? Find a happy place. [...]

If you thought you had reality sussed, that you'd heard the weirdest, wonkiest and most remarkable, Nick McCarthy's Box Codax ought to give your every sense a rigorous shuffle. They'll have you hurling your records skywards like insignificant confetti in unguarded frivolity. Or at least the devilishly decent first half of Hellabuster will. Eponymous opener Hellabuster is, as McCarthy himself quite defiantly states, "classic songwriting" . And it's classically, classily classic. The English language doesn't cater for enough superlatives to cover its time signature-shifting pop radiance, the mysterious Alexander Ragnew coyly monologuing intermittently, plugging up the gaps [...]
As we recently mentioned, we've got a lot of songs we just haven't posted, so we're trying to catch up. (It's not gonna happen, but fondly may we dream.) For this post we drop down to the chronological end of our queue. Frankly, we're not exactly sure when we found these, but it appears it was in late 2008. Try not to settle into any particular mood, for this lot is all over the lot.The Charade -

Sænskt sólskinspopp er tilvalið á grámyglulegum mánudagsmorgni eins og þessum. Alla tíð síðan Life plata The Cardigans kom út fyrir 15 árum síðan hefur sænsk popptónlist verið í hávegum höfð á mínu heimili (af mér). The Charade róa á lík mið og The Cardigans, en sveitin hefur gefið út þrjár eðal poppskífur sem því miður hafa litla athygli vakið. Tríóið skipa Ingela Matsson og Mikael Matsson en þau voru saman í hljómsveitinni The Shermans . Mikael var einnig í hátt skrifuðu bandi sem hét Red Sleeping Beauty . It's the simple things you always do, that makes the whole world love you. My Song To You by The Charade
Staying on the Cramps tip for minute, I thought some of you would dig the following; a vinyl 45 rip of the Charades doo wop cover of Duke Elligton's "Flamingo," which was played at Lux Interior's memorial service. Beautiful, perfect...transcendent. Hat tip to Office Naps for the vinyl transfer. MP3: The Charades :: Flamingo ------- + Download the [...]

Not the Swedish nor the Finnish Charades as one might first think but the collective of the same name who come from several sunny parts of Spain. And what a sublime troupe they turn out to be, steeped in the traditions of indie pop and well versed in providing their own twist. 'Grito Tu Nombre' is the opening track from their current album 'Revolución Solar (Vinilo Naranja)' and while it may lack a memorable Camera Obscura styled hook its all round kookiness makes that assertion kinda redundant. A messi affair of the musical kind. KD [...]

Friday night at SXSW answered many long-pondered questions: Can I make it an entire day of just Chick Fil A and tortilla chips? (yes) Does chasing whiskey with Heineken leave your mouth feeling minty fresh? (no) Does Bill Murray appreciate random fans coming up to him as he tries to watch Fool's Gold? (no) Can a drunk quadriplegic have his wheelchair cited for drunk driving? (yes, although I'm sure you could weasel your way out of a citation by blaming the wheels in some way) And with my brain now resting a [...]

Revolución Solar. Charades BCore Disc, Spain Rating: 66 by Andrew Casillas This is the kindest 66 rating that you will ever read. Please believe me. The following words are not meant as a severe slight; just as the airing of precious, pragmatic criticism. I'm sure we've all encountered a situation when we hear an album that shares a wide variety of musical attributes with many of our favorite records. If you were to hear about said music in the theoretical sense, [...]
