Mexican producer Louie Fresco burst onto the scene late last year with his Donna Summer sampling track So Good released on Art Department's Jonny White's label No.19 Music. The subsequently (and exquisite) remix by Russ Yallop cemented him as one to watch in 2012. Now, as he's set to put out the second release from his new label, Mexa Records, a joint venture with his fellow countryman Jay Blakk (of Climbers), we caught up with him to chat Latin influences, Kenny G, Twinkies and more in what might be the funniest interview we've ever had the pleasure of [...]

Climbers - Losing You (Original Mix) from Law of Attraction , the debut EP from Climbers, out now on Culprit and available on Beatport . Watch out for the Mexican duo's follow-up EP, coming soon on Nurvous Records.

The deep house genre is riding high once again. With Culprit, Crosstown Rebells and Hot Creations leading the way. Climbers debut EP is a prime example of the new deep house sound that's been taking over the clubs during the last six months. Losing you is my first track of the choice. With those heavenly disco stabs , the atmospheric stroke s and the classic super-deep bassline that kicks in at 1:02 sharp. Even if the OVS, the percussion driven and somewhat less [...]

You know what you are? The original of this track is great but quite vocal - a dash of dub courtesy of Climbers , never goes astray. mp3. Blondish - Lonely Days (Climbers Remix) digital aunt hazel

We like Lower East and we like it a lot. The London based label run by Cozzy D , Lee Brinx and Ed Kane has been delivering nothing but quality twelves the last six months. The title track is an acid bass driven vocal tune. Play it on a proper soundsystem and the walls will shake and sweat. The climbers remix is slower and smoother. This one really reminds me the of the late 90s synthesisers of Depeche Mode, fitting the track name even [...]

Cathy Dennis - Touch Me (Climbers Enjoy Your Time In Life Edit) by Mexa Records Every time I hear Touch Me , all I can see is Mark Patton queening out in his bedroom to the original Fonda Rae song in Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge. Climbers , a duo from Mexico, slow down the Cathy Dennis version and throw in some rerecorded vocals to fresh effect. Looking forward to hearing their forthcoming single "Change of Love" at every beach party this summer.

Boy Eats Drum Machine - Hoop + Wire Boy Eats Drum Machine: "Hoop +Wire" DL Boy Eats Drum Machine is the multi-instrumental project of Jon Ragel based in Portland, Oregon. Ragel writes the lyrics, sings said lyrics, mixes, and plays the saxophone, and is on the super-hip Portland-based label Tender Loving Empire. It's filled with upbeat songs, strongly recalling both classic afro-rhythms and new wave vocals. Despite these influences, one thing is clear: this is a post-internet, post-Garage Band album. Hoop + Wire is an eleven-track [...]
The Climbers From: London and Brighton, United Kingdom Southern foursome The Climbers sound like The Coral meets Mumford & Sons on a tug boat in the Thames. Go Try MP3 - The Climbers - Uncommon This track is linked direct from the Climbers Last.FM site and is therefore already [...]

Tonight, six Richmond bands will interpret Guided By voices in the only way (and quite possibly the best way) they know how - drunkenly and enthusiastically. This free show at the Camel will feature acts like the Trillions, Paul Ivey vs. The Board of Education, the Snowy Owls, Climbers, Herschel Stratego and Adah . I can't even begin to describe how crazy and awesome this will be.
