We've been fans of hazy electronic Swedish duo Korallreven from the first notes of theirs that we heard last year, and they've just announced their debut album An Album By Korallreven which will be released in November. To celebrate, they've shared their third single, "As Young As Yesterday", featuring vocals once again from Victoria Bergsman, who I've just found out is a member of The Concretes, the awesome band that I saw live totally by chance earlier this year. I suppose you could call Don't Wait Animate (a.k.a. "DWA") a trip hop or dubstep band, but since I generally hate those genres-and I really enjoyed their latest EP, Overcast Up Concrete Down, I'm not going to classify them as anything other than Indie. Sunny Sweeney's Concrete (Big Machine) is a multi-influential combination of vulnerability and swagger. The Texan native started out as a member of a comedy troupe in New York City and along the way was encouraged to embrace singing. The album is well-stocked with listenable, fun songs revealing Sweeney's persohality and penchant for dark humor.
