I recently saw a review of Sagara on a website called CokeMachineGlow. Conrad Amenta, who's very savvy re: electronica, feels that Joachim Dyrdahl 's latest effort is less than innovative at merging gamelan influences with electronica and dance. An album I've been digesting over is the new one from Augusta, Georgia's The Cubists - Mechanical Advantage . This album has a spilt personality of sorts. Part straight up rock, part ghost of Postal Service, and part spaced out My Morning Jacket escapades. The rock and heavy mood electronic songs are...okay, and sometimes work, but I clearly find myself drawn to the psychedelic and expansive songs like "The Orchestra Breathes" and "Mechanical Advantage" (which do remind me of My Morning Jacket). Those specific tracks create a deep sonic landscape with heavily reverbed vocals, ever changing grooves. [...]

The Cubists set up Mechanical Advantage with the outstanding "Fire In The Backyard", a song that swirls between the realm of pop and epic rock with catchy hooks and a wild guitar solo or two. Then The Cubists drop into the slow and dreamy "The Orchestra Breathes". It brings in electronic elements, draped over the percussion that picks up double-time as the song continues.
