Athletes : Fall Apart Coming on strong with a sweeping wave of cold, solitary guitar lines, ' Fall Apart ' is the darkest thing I've heard this side of the winter cold, encompassing the isolation of Mode Moderne , with the potential mainstream appeal of fellow newcomers Torches . Basement Fever picked up on Athletes' Cure-like quality, though the vocals are far less expressive than your average Robert Smith; holed up in some frozen, claustrophobic chamb er. These guys are one rare, exciting Danish export.

Nothing says Christmas spirit like The Cure . Am I right. Well the kings of depression will be brightening fans holidays with the December 6th release of The Cure: Bestival Live 2011 . The album is a live recording of the band's 2-and-a-half hour, 32 song performance from this year's Bestival festival on the Isle of Wight. All proceeds go to support the Isle of Wight Youth Trust .

Been digging back through old catalogues of my favorite artists from the past and while some fail to move me in the slightest bit, The Cure still blows my mind to this very day. This song is a great example of why. The carefully placed introducing of each of the elements of this song and how wonderfully layered they are is undeniably amazing. Plus, in this song Robert Smith reaches back two or three albums from his own work to create a unique musical experience WITHIN the unique musical experience that is his life. Dig in! [...]
