I know this can be seen as a poor journalistic practice, but if I'm planning to see a band in concert, I choose not to acquaint myself with their music beforehand. I prefer to let them introduce me to their sound in the live setting. Last Wednesday at the Gaîté Lyrique in Paris, this practice paid off threefold, starting with a great live debut Total Warr.
