I have to assume that the parents or legal guardians of the children in the below video, who ages range from five to ten, are kinda nutty. Why else form them into a group called the Children Medieval Band, a name which seems to suggest little kids playing on lutes and hirtenschalmeis, despite the fact that [...]
Horns up for readers Kathleen Figueroa and Josh Endres - they correctly identified last week's logo as beloning to the band Vomitification, and for their troubles, they each win autographed copies of Enslaved, the new album from Soulfly. Congrats, Kathleen and Josh! Normally this is point in CUBLOTW when I'd tell you I have another awesome prize for [...]
Linus Eklöw aka Style of Eye is one of the most uncommon yet remarkable producers amongst the Swedish league of talent. Previewed on Pete Tong's Essential Mix and Felix Cartal's weekend mix, "Devastate" is on the freakier side of things but in the most intriguing way possible. Being such a different and innovate sounding track, this free download is quite the treat for fans globally. Style of Eye does a perfect job at working in euphoric lead synths with devastating and hardcore electro-house breakdowns. He produced the perfect harmony of Yin and Yang melodies, and a production like this [...]
Much has been made of Century Media's very public anti-Spotify stance on MetalSucks, and as such there's really no need to repeat it again here. Now it appears as if Century might be having a change of heart, but only if they believe your band isn't going to sell that many records anyway. The Devastated's [...]
Now that Fear Factory have put the finishing touches on their new album, The Industrialist, the band are heading out on the road for some serious touring. The band will be teaming up with Shadows Fall, who are also set to release a new album soon, as well as The Devastated and Legacy of Disorder. ...
It looks there's gonna be a Fear Factory headlining tour this spring. Shadows Fall will play direct support, while The Devastated, The Browning and Legacy of Disorder will come along for the ride too. Our source? A venue called the Crofoot in Pontiac, MI (25 miles from Detroit) who let the beans out of the [...]
New releases from Goatwhore, Orange Goblin, Earth and Beneath the Massacre all placed in the Top 100 of the "Current Hard Music Albums" chart on Soundscan last week, while recent records from Van Halen, Lamb of God, Foo Fighters, Lacuna Coil and more just keep on truckin'. Also, a startling realization that Nickelback is more [...]

Winter is usually fairly slow for releases, but it's not even March and a bunch of cool stuff has already dropped. This week, we update you and your wallet on the second chapter of Earth's double album, new jams from Orange Goblin, and excellent records from Pilgrim, Goatwhore, and Iron Mask. Amoral Beneath (The End) On [...]
A headache in "musical" form, The Devastated's new album, The Devil's Messenger, is pretty much the worst thing ever. By which I do not mean the worst album ever, because out-terribling every other terrible record is, frankly, a goal far too modest for The Devastated. No, I mean it is actually the worst thing ever to [...]

Clive Davis and Whitney Houston in Feb. 2007 - Getty Clive Davis ' annual pre-Grammy party was understandably a somber event as guests were still in shock over the sudden death of one of music's greatest voices, Whitney Houston , just hours before the gala, which she was scheduled to attend, began. It wasn't immediately clear if Davis, who launched Houston's career and remained her mentor throughout the years, was going to attend the party, but he did show up and shared a few heart-wrenching words with attendees before asking for [...]
In case you're wondering, I was lying when I said I was having a wisdom tooth removed by an oral surgeon. In fact, I simply traveled to Spain, where I had the tooth knocked out by a pizza boomerang. Here's some other shit we did this week: We debuted new music by Terrorizer and Seas [...]
Last night I listened to both Axel Rudi Pell's Circle of the Oath and The Devastated's Devil's Messenger for the first time, and I'm honestly not sure which one was is worse. I guess ARP has some humor/entertainment value at least, because it's just SO GODDAMN SILLY, whereas The Devastated's album just made me wanna kill myself; [...]
New video for hasHBrown's "The Devastation/Clarity", off Break Something. Download: hashBrown - Break Something www.rapmayor.com

Coming out March 6th on Constellation , here is a track from the forthcoming Elfin Saddle record, Devastates . It's an edit of the track "the Changing Wind," which I wouldn't have guessed since the music flows so well here. The song opens up with some nice acoustic arpeggios and ominous drones. Once things start to take off, these folky boy-girl vocals come in and give the whole thing a charming and rootsy feel. These root's ain't in America, though! The accordions that fly in sound like they're playing Scottish bagpipe melodies to me. [...]

We won't call out some of the obvious one's in this playlist but we will say this weather channel business is really put the scare in the upper North East. The sheer scale of it has people literally running for the hills to seek higher ground. Anyway this play list goes out to user @daanvanrossum because he asked me what was on my Hurricane playlist and i just told him I daho's You Were A Dick was a good rain record and walked away. That was sort of rude but I told him I'd work on [...]
