Last weekend was my grandmother's Celebration of Life. It would have been her 92nd birthday. We all had margaritas (it was also Cinco de Mayo; I had three) and told funny stories about her life. It was a blast, a good closure and celebration to a woman who meant a lot to a lot of people. As we grow closer and closer to the release of Young Man 's Vol. 1 LP , the buzz seems to continue to grow. I'm not going to lie and pretend like I'm not buying into the hype, but I'll say that this is perhaps my favorite track of all that's been floating around so far. Indie-pop is my new genre of choice, if you didn't already know. And The Dø fits nicely into that genre with a boisterous female vocalist, slightly slack drums, and novel combinations of instrumentals. The French/Finnish duo, made up of Olivia Marilahti and Dan Levy, have been jammin' since 2005.
