If the name The End doesn't look familiar to you, there's a good reason for that. The producer who crafted this stunning two-track EP recorded it as part of the Fake Flamingo Records manifesto, which requires artists to work under a pseudonym. As a result, it makes the listener focus solely on the music and not the name/image attached to it. Pretty smart, if you ask me, and it doesn't hurt one bit that this particular release is so damn good. Download: The End - The End [Bandcamp]

The Dandy Warhols This Machine The End Records [2012] Fire Note Says: The Dandy Warhols make a return after four years with This Machine . Album Review: I don't think anyone will argue that The Dandy Warhols last several efforts have been eclectic listens and to be honest This Machine also probably falls into that description. It is a record that will take [...]

It would have been tempting for Alex Starling to continue ploughing the same furrow that he'd done while a member of Ou Est Le Swimming Pool, but his new project combines elements of both old and new. Electro-pop may not be as big a deal as it used to be, but there are still some artists and bands who are doing it rather well, and The Ghosts [ Twitter / Facebook ] happen to be one of them. Following a shock turn of events at Pukkelpop 2010, which led to OELSP frontman Charles Haddon taking his own life, no-one would have [...]
What does pyrotechnics, lazers, confetti cannons, and C02 all have in common? They saved the world which is Coachella. For those of us not lucky enough to be there in person we have a little treat for you. It consist's of Axwell's "Heart Is King, Knife Party's remix of Save The World, and Arty's Rock N' Rolla mix of Punk. Did I mention, there's also fire? https://www.facebook.com/swedi shhousemafia
This is it. The last post. Thank you to all of you who have supported this project. It has been an extraordinary experience. The book club will endure. Please expect to see that as the featured post each month.

Tweet vaso link And with this post, tympanogram will be going (relatively) dark. We don't want to go all Hipster Runoff and say we're quitting and then come back the next Monday like nothing happened, so we may appear every so often if something really strikes our fancy, but there isn't going to be regular posting here anymore. We've loved doing this for the past three years, but the blog has come to a point where it's more [...]
"We'll make this brief, because it hurts too much."
The Ghosts are a band with a fine sense of irony: they're calling their debut album The End , but there is a clear sense that things are just beginning for them. Former Ou Est Le Swimming Pool man Alex Starling has teamed up with drummer Ian Bennett and already released one single; back in January, Enough Time , which is streaming below, was released, and the duo aren't hanging around, for here comes another single. Fans of Starling's old band - I still play The Golden Years every so often myself - will enjoy his new material, [...]
Back in September, Melvin Saul Sheik posted this video on Vimeo. Five months and 35 views later, he leaves us perplexed. Is this man actually dead? Was this a cry for help? There's been no activity since September 11, 2011. Illuminati? What..the..fuck? Thank you for the pills, Dr. W. I love you.
It seems it's that time of the month to see what shit-hot things the Russians are up to. This time the wearerussians.com label are dropping a free single from Kensy Krackshow . The single 'The End' and it's B-Side, 'Malkovich' are two slabs of powerful, driving, Electro. Dark and gritty with the big, retro leads of SynthWave, the distorted chaos of French Electro-House, and an extra helping of twisted Acid mayhem. There's some serious competition for the likes of Danger and Kavinsky here! Kensy also recently dropped a free album, 'Power Of Illusions', which you [...]
After the sterling release of their album 'Wonder' and their globally supported 'Kill Kill' EP the Parisian Techno Rockers 'WAT' have a new striking release, locked in and on the way. The suave and seductive, indie dance record 'Missile' is a refreshed 2012 re-edit which is full of European disco refinement. A teasing bass drum kicks away bringing in the infectious, foot-tapping intro which exists throughout before the finger-clicking groove sails us away guided by the uplifting guitar riffs and the [...]

THE ENDZ - FROM THE ENDZ (KNICKER BOCKER COREY'S FRONT TING REMIX) by Knicker Bocker Corey

Cise Star × DJ Unwind - Greater Purpose Evan Awake - Love Child CYNE × Rebel Clique - Tide of Life This dropped a few weeks back which I missed first time round because I was busy for exams, so let me rectify that. Mash-up conniseur Evan Awake releases his next installment, 'Alternative Endings', featuring a few original beats too. He's prepping for his first beat tape which should be out in the next few months, peep this instrumental [...]
Here's a track from the Lemâitre EP that's set to come out tomorrow, Relativity I . These guys are are Norwegian electronic pop duo that satisfied both sides of my brain with this tune, "The End." One side of my brain is like this right now: "Oh, the piano introducing this song is beautiful and delicate. The 'swishes' of noise in the background are an interesting touch." Eventually, a danceable beat and sweet basssline kicks in, which brings the other side of my brain into the picture: "YEAH GIMME GIMME GIMME THAT BEAT! LOVE THIS [...]

Don't get your panties in a knot, this is just a little predictions. Judging by the fact that Beyonce is done with her pregnancy and this track is a robust dance number that is not to be let go, it feels right that Beyonce is not done with her 4 campaign and is hiding this gem (one of many on the album) for a later release. Probably during the summer because it's a dance track. If it is not in the works, it should be. #JustSaying. Related articles [...]

It's that time of year to look back on the past 12 months and say "what the hell happened to the last 12 months?!". It's also that time of year where us music bloggers and self-proclaimed critics take the time to put together some Best Of lists for your reading pleasure. They don't really mean a whole lot and you can love 'em or leave 'em, but it seems like the right thing to do to sum up the year in preparation of the next. This year we're featuring personal lists from all of our fantastic writers. [...]
![[Introducing] – The Morning Clouds](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3943921_lg.jpg)
Tweet The Morning Clouds 's Josh Wambeke makes songs that are as lush and teenage-dreamy as Beach House , as pop and sunny as a lazy Beach Boys single, with the ability to lose themselves in the influence of Nirvana and My Blood Valentine . In 2010, having spent a good many years performing in Phineas Gage and Fell , Wambeke began writing music on his own again in his recording studio in [...]
It's only a few days until Christmas now and GoldFlakePaint finds itself still going strong at the end of this, it's first ever full year on't web. And what a year it's been. We put on our first ever gigs, recruited some mighty fine new writers, got a swanky new face-lift and met a few of our heroes along the way. Thanks to anyone who is taking the time to read this now and for anyone who has been with us on the journey, it's been great fun and we're all looking forward to whatever 2012 might throw our way.
