Miracle Parade is the newest experiment by Christopher Pappas of The Everyday Visuals , a New Hampshire band that slowly claimed their local fame throughout New Hampshire over the course of five albums. Miracle Parade's new album (and first under the moniker) will be released on June 21st. The album is called Hark!…And Other Lost Transmissions and will be a concept album about "a physicist and his futile time machine" as Pappas puts it. What started out as bedroom [...]
On Saturday I heard a report about the 10 billionth download from Apple's iTunes. It mentioned that the person doing the download would be rewarded with a $10,000 iTunes Gift Card. I figured I could be the one so off to the app store I headed. I like a lot of the camera and video apps so I stumbled upon 8mm . 8mm lets you shoot clips with a handful of vintage filters — 70s, Sakura, XPro, Siena, and 1920 — similar to the way Hipstamatic does all for $1.99. There is something immediately arresting about the folk-y pop tunes of The Everyday Visuals and their ghostly whispered harmonies. Or perhaps the spirited, lingering vocals evoke memories of adventures come and gone, of old letters floating away on a paper ship. Whatever it is, The Everyday Visuals' soft but poignantly delivered melodies are worth getting lost in. Go see their set at T.T.'s this Friday and listen to tunes from their new self-titled album below. [...]
