Tom Stilwell was in New Zealand on a working holiday, living on the fourteenth floor of his apartment building, Volt Apartments (pictured above). Imagine his suprise when, at two in the morning, he came home from perhaps a night of the holiday segment of his working holiday to find that he was locked out! So Stilwell did what you and I would do, he went and asked the landlord to help him out. Wait, that's not quite right. He went upstairs and asked another member of the apartment if he could stay the night. No, that's not it [...]

How was your weekend? Good? Good. This guy below in the red hat and white v-neck? He had a really good weekend. He went to the Yankees-Angels game on Saturday and, during ESPN's postgame show, tried to share his enthusiasm with sports fans across the nation on live TV. Keyword: Tried. See below. h/t Deadspin
Mother Nature seems to have forgotten we're close to the middle of June. It is 57˚. My house is cold enough that I'm wearing socks and a sweatshirt. The sky is gray and the wind is blowing. It poured rain all night into this morning. Sun is predicted tomorrow so I'll just have to be patient with today. I'm late as I met friends for breakfast. We get together once a month. All of us worked at the high school together and we all retired with a few years of each other. This morning there were 11 of [...]

By Hayley Scott (words) & Kenny McMurtrie (photographs) June 14, 2013 Perhaps one of the most idiosyncratic of Saturday’s events was Jeffrey Lewis and psych-folk veteran Peter Stampfel at the Theatre Royal – coming as no particular surprise if you’ve seen either of these acts as a collective or solo entity. Seemingly mismatched, both artists are, of course, similarly experimental in their craft – distorting preconceptions of folk with joyful subversion - sharing a love of comic books and offering more than just an average live setting at [...]

By Kenny McMurtrie & Dominic Allen June 13, 2013 With barely time to grab a kebab evening arrived in Wakefield and another slew of acts ventured on to the various stages (of which, it has to be pointed out we only ever visited five of the seven - Velvet & The Orangery unfortunately being off our radar as that bit slightly further to walk). First off we caught This Is The Kit . Sporting a very nice line in [...]

We all know it's coming. We've heard the reports, seen the pictures. Big name listening sessions. Deleted Tweets. It is all but here. Finally. We should be seeing a single soon. Given they will want the album out this year with an expected tour starting in 2014, there is little doubt. And we have traditionally seen with the bigger bands a 3 month time-lag from first single to album release. Nine Inch Nails just released their new single and the album is out in September. We can all do the math. So what does this mean? [...]

On june 3rd, Monocle's editor in chief Tyler Brûlé and the Maison Kitsuné team invited his friends, followers and fellows to an exclusive Monocle pop-up store inside Maison Kitsuné's Broadway Street boutique, in New York. This evening, between the easy-going conversations, glasses of wine and Monocle free gifts, Maison Kitsuné New York trully earned its title of idyllic [...]
The Presets' Fall off their new album Pacifica already had an official video for the original mix, but Australian videographer Ego was so inspired by the Hook N Sling remix that he decided to give it a video of its own. One part DJ, one part videographer, Ego has been turning music on its head with his multi-sensory live show and video productions. Best known for his work as Nice & Ego, he has rocked audiences throughout the Land Down Under, including wowing crowds at this year’s Splendour in [...]
Ride on the seaside as a stylish sailor on the shore! The striped Swimboxer from the Maison Kitsuné Spring-Summer 2013 collection is perfectly midway between the surfer's shorts and the bathing suit. With its thin bands in classical colors: red, navy, sky and beige, and its white drawcords, you'll get the sophistication of an oceanographic [...]

Cuteness cultivator and poetic Japanese photographer, Kotori Kawashima shot the images of the Maison Kitsuné Fall-Winter 2013 lookbook starring Kiko Mizuhara and Niels Schneider, with his well-know genuine and natural style. He artfully setted a shilly-shally love story between Kiko and Niels, while they were strolling and getting to know each other in Tokyo's breathtaking and blossoming cityscapes, supported by [...]
Add a preppy Yale-style spirit while structuring your suit with the Maison Kitsuné "deconstructed" jacket! Part of the Maison Kitsuné Spring-Summer 2013 collection for men, the "deconstructed" jacket is once again present this season in a checked cotton made of flexible washed canvas, with three brown buttons and a tailored collar. Made in France in 100% cotton, [...]
The Connecticut-born actor Christopher Abbott is one of the new faces of New York, due to his role in the much talked-about TV-serie "Girls", and in "Hello, I Must Be Going" film, which won the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival 2012. So, it's kind of a pretty privilege to discover his interview [...]

Really want to know what the LT3 team is listening to? OK. We'll tell you, but just this once. Just kidding. We do this every week. . Josh Bennett Mark Sixma - Requiem (Original Mix) [Mainstage] Dark and intense only scratches the surface when describing Mark Sixma's latest solo outing, Requiem . For those who may not know, a requiem is a Mass service for the souls of the dead, as [...]

Since winning the BBC Sound Of 2013 poll at the start of the year, Haim have garnered a considerable following despite not yet releasing a full album. As the hype continues to grow, the sisters had much to prove at this gig. They were supported by another Sound Of nominee: Arlissa, who performed a rare acoustic set. Whilst it was missing the exotic production, it allowed us to really hear her vocal with its rich tone, lilting inflections and impressive range. The singer [...]
Another cracking program featuring session tracks from TheOrb and Badgeman and a couple [...]
Good to see The Fall being as wilfully obstinate as ever. They've got a new album out, Re-Mit , and it's something of a musical barrage. Way too much going on to be cohesive, and all the better for it. As a taster for it, they released Victrola Time as a limited edition Record Shop Day 7". It's one of their more unlikely singles. No guitar, mostly just primitive electronics and drum kit, and possibly the strangest noise Mark E Smith has ever made: a long, strangled scream like dust from the [...]
