One of the acts I discovered this past weekend while doing my own personal music trolling was The Felt Tips . Everything about their sound immediately caught my ear; I can't say if it was the way the guitars dueled or the affecting tone of the vocals, but I know that I've just been playing this song on repeat for several days. The group has a new album titled Symbolic Violence ready for your ears this coming Spring via Firestation Records -that label alone had me scrambling for [...]
Tried to listen to the new Glasvegas album Euphoric Heartbreak yesterday, but got so bored that I gave up half way through! Unlike the abovementioned album the new album Raven in the Grave by The Raveonettes sounds very promising after just one listen. + Forget That You're Young [...]

2010 was quite a year. It saw graduations, festivals, a move from Athens to Barcelona, the discovery of a new city, a slight, um, slowing down of our blog activity, a World Cup, many flights (17 for me), and a lot of great music. So, without further ado, we present to you: So, how did we compile this rather fantastic list, you ask? Easy, we consulted our trusty last.fm profiles (see the bottom of this page for our individual profiles). We then each chose our top 25 and [...]
The song list this year has a lot of crossover with the records list from yesterday. I suppose that is to be expected to a certain degree, but I get it's a little repetitive for me to be banging on about the same bands over and over again. Still, that's the nature of these lists, and I'm not going to throw in other things for the sake of it. 1. Los Campesinos! - A Heat Rash in the Shape of the Show Me State, or, Letters from Me to Charlotte [...]

So 2010 turned out to be the year where my enjoyment of indiepop turned into a full blown obsession. Pretty much everything I've listened to (or rather, listened to and liked) this year falls into the genre, or at the very least, flirts with it in some way. So any end of year lists will be rather myopic genre wise. I simply haven't listened to most of the critically acclaimed albums released this year, nor do I care to. Regularly now I will look at Pitchfork and not even recognise a single band on it's front page. A few years [...]

Tweet A lot of indiepop'ers have been waiting for a full-length release from The Felt Tips , and so have I. The Glasgow-band have shown signs of their greatness on a couple of singles and EPs before this, but now, finally we can put a full cd with the band in our players. The cd is called "Living and Growing" and includes 10 far above the average indiepop-songs. When I first got hooked on this band, it was their wonderful melodies and their honest lyrics [...]

The first word I etched on a desk with a pen was Morrissey And the first time the words meant as much as the music was Morrissey And the moaning that came from my room everyday was Morrissey And the reason my Mum had to ask was I gay, yes Morrissey. There's probably a hundred songs out there by bands trying to articulate their feelings toward Morrissey. To a great many of them he was a [...]

Stream the new (and rather dull) track Do You Love It by Mew over at Soundvenue . Included on the band’s forthcoming compilation album Eggs Are Funny . The debut album Living and Growing by The Felt Tips will be out on Plastilina Records on November 15. + Dear Morrissey Your truly was mentioned on [...]

I love Indietracks. In preparation for writing this, I've been concerned that anything I say is just going to be horribly gushing. I've gone over the weekend again and again looking for negatives to include in this. I didn't come up with very much. This is a festival that can seemingly do no wrong to me, and what's written below will reflect that. With that said, let's jump aboard the train toward the Midland Railway Centre in Derbyshire for a look back at this year's Indietracks. FRIDAY [...]

Once again, Indietracks was an absolute delight. The proper review (you know, the one with words and stuff) will follow tomorrow, but here are the fruits of my photographic labour: [...]

This weekend, while the indie pop world is partying away at Indietracks , I’ll be flying to Austria instead for the second part of this summer’s holiday . The last couple of years I’ve been seriously thinking of going to the English Midlands for the festival and although I’m really too old to be sleeping in a tent and living off junk food and beers for three days, it would without a doubt be motherfucking fun! But sadly things didn’t work out [...]
![WeePOP! Records [Label Spotlight]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/2644458_lg.jpg)
There is a growing underground force of pop labels releasing music on nontraditional formats. Of these formats, two prevalent ones, at least in the lo-fi pop and twee pop arenas, are cassette and the 3-inch single. Being such a strong fan of the genres that release via these formats, one would think I would have the ability to play them when they arrive in my mailbox. Unfortunately, I do not at this time. (But boy do I love receiving them!) WeePOP! Records releases via the latter and they've built [...]

Records . Sin embargo, esos tres singles nos han [...]
Click here to view the embedded video. Video: Indietracks 2009 in 7 Minutes by LastNightFromGlasgow The Indietracks lineup seems to be pretty much complete now (though a few more bands are still to come) with Everybody Was In The French Resistance... Now and Slow Club both being added to the bill. Perhaps more excitingly though, the day by day breakdowns have now been announced, giving us a festival that looks something like this: Friday [...]

Now that London Popfest is out of the way, it's time to turn our attention to this year's Indietracks festival, which will take place 23-25 July at the lovely Midland Railway Centre in Derbyshire. Last year we covered the event quite extensively, and this year will be no different. Previews of the bands in the run up to the event, followed by reports and a shit ton of photos of the weekend itself. I'm not exaggerating when I call Indietracks the highlight of my musical year. Where else can you get a non-stop indiepop while surrounded by (and [...]

The Felt Tips - Bought and Sold Indiepop från Glasgow och sångaren får i alla fall mig att tänka väldigt mycket på en rätt välkänd brittisk sångare. Låten finns på EP:n som även den heter Bought and Sold .

Κυρίες και κύριοι, ladies and gentlemen, mesdames et messieurs.. καλωσήλθατε στον τρίτο διαγωνισμό της εναλλακτικής Eurovision !
