![[Introducing] – Lucy Rose](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4052218_lg.jpg)
Tweet I don't make it a habit of actively seeking out acoustic pop music. I wouldn't even consider it to be one of my top three favorite genres. I find most of it to be either too lazy to listen to, or too opinionated for me to enjoy. Still, I somehow end up finding some diamonds in the rough. These usually end up being the longest lasting albums in my musical rotation. Long after the dance pop and new wave numbers have lost their flavor, artists like [...]

You may not have come across this wistful young woman, but Lucy Rose lulls us with light and nostalgic musings to wash away the January blues. Also, what a fabulous name. Currently waiting in the wings of the folksy singer songwriter stage, her distinctive voice may be familiar to you. She co-wrote and features on the song 'Flaws' from Bombay Bicycle Club and is even touring with them later this year. We are massive fans here at HMCMB, especially her recent offering 'Red Face' which is due to be released February 27 th. The track develops [...]
Still only in their early 202s Londoner's Bombay Bicycle Club released their third album in as many years in 2011. Just as the novelty factor of the foursome being fresh out of school was starting to wear off they produced an album that begs to be described as mature. Those expecting more acoustic forays in [...]
We've got a bit of a thing for Bastille at HMCMB. We've introduced them when they were just front man Dan Smith, interviewed them and even recorded some of our HMCMB sessions with them. With that amount of interaction we've seen Bastille grow and develop into the band now, and watch all of their successes, of which there are many. Bastille have managed to build a career out of playing unabashed pop music, thick with ambient synth and soaring hooks and vocals, yet somehow do so in a way that seems quite far removed [...]

Bastille are one of those artists that I have been meaning to write about for a while and, as yet, have not had chance to, so I'm seizing the opportunity as they promote their new video Overjoyed . Formerly the moniker of singer/songwriter Dan Smith, in the past few months Bastille has grown into a fully fledged band with an incredible buzz around them at the moment due to the sheer quality of the music they are producing. Overjoyed is a prime example of this and shows a versatility in comparison to previous fan favourite Flaws [...]

Cavan's 'Shouting at Planes' are playing the 'Hooley in the Park' festival this weekend in Mullagh, Co. Cavan. It's not a bad line-up but at €25 a tad expensive! Here's the press info: "'The Stunning' will headline on the Saturday evening with support from Republic Of Loose, The Flaws, Ham Sandwhich, Riptide Movement, TKO, Shouting At Planes, Sa La V plus many more. Gates open at 3pm with the first band taking to stage at 4pm. 'The Stunning' will take to the stage at 10pm. Full bar facilities will be on [...]
So you may well have noticed the September Sessions that were running all the way through, well, last month! Alas along with the turn of the month, the sessions are brought to a close for the time being. They were a new diversification for us at HMCMB, one with a steeper learning curve than anything else we've done before. It's also a diversification that has allowed us to meet some great people, learn some new skills and generally become that much more immersed in the music we love. It's not been without errors though, plenty of misplaced batteries, unhelpful software [...]
Bombay Bicycle Club 's "Shuffle"- the first single off their newest effort A Different Kind of Fix -surfaced months ago, and has been much celebrated ever since. The clever little piano line provides the backbone for a song that sees the London-based outfit grow into a sound that truly suits them after trying out different sounds on I Had The Blues But I Shook Them Loose and Flaws . "Shuffle" feels like watching a gifted band [...]
As you are hopefully aware we've dubbed the coming month "Sessions September" and are releasing another acoustic session every week day through our YouTube channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/he ymancheckmyband . "Sessions September" opened up with Bastille, who we've been long term fans of, ever since hearing Dan's first demo, "Icarus", way back in February. We loved it then "a metaphorical tale of danger, risk and love interwoven with soothing verses and soaring choruses; it's hard to see what's not to like really" and still love it now, which is probably why we used it as the very [...]
As you may or may not know, we are currently in the midst of recording and filming some acoustic sessions. It's been a pretty hectic time, and very steep learning curve but we feel like we are finally getting properly to grips with it. One of the most recent sessions we filmed was with the lovely Bastille down at the Underbelly in Hoxton just before the party for their single release of 'Flaws' and 'Icarus'. We were lucky enough to also have a chat with the lead singer Dan about Bastille, their newest release, a double A side, Made In [...]

Walter Sobcek are back with another stunning remix and is an aperitif to their new EP 'Miami,' which is their second single, on Schmooze (the label home to Chilly Gonzales and Housse de Racket). Miami was recorded and mixed with the help of producer Samy Osta (Chromeo, Cocosuma and Syd Matters). The single package includes 3 remixes of Miami by Muffin, Pharao Black Magic and Kido Yoji, plus bonus track Hollywood Cries. Their new remix of Batille's 'Flaws' and is a smooth piece of acoustic electro combining the synths of say a Roksopp and the warm Fench [...]

They promised a return to their electric roots after 20102s acoustic Flaws, and that's exactly what we get. With added wonky piano. The Crouch End four piece have been making mutterings for a while now that we shouldn't expect a re-write of Flaws , however i'm not sure any of us were quite expecting this - it's bouncy pop for goodness sake! Light and airy too. There's a groove there. It's the first single from their upcoming third album, called A Different Kind of Fix, which is slated for release on [...]

The Flaws release the single 'Constant Adventure' this coming Friday 8th July, in advance of their gig in Whelans on Thursday 21st July and it's a really good tune! I feel for The Flaws. After receiving a well deserved Choice nod for their debut a few years back the band released their second album 'Constant Adventure' and found the music scene had changed. In an attempt to reach out to blogs I've been sent their new single and album title track for review. It [...]

Tweet If ever you were wondering what "piano pop" would sound like, listen to Bombay Bicycle Club 's new single "Shuffle." The new track is a 180º deviation from their last album, "Flaws," and I'm totally loving it. The staccato piano tune and the airy and falsetto vocals make for a great first single. Though the track adds a little drama with a short break at the bridge, but then you're back to dancing around your room. Bombay Bicycle Club seems to have [...]

On their debut album, British rockers Bombay Bicycle Club seamlessly intertwined their appreciation for post-punk, acoustic folk, and pop music in to a project inevitably appealing to a broad range of listeners, from older curmudgeons to naive teenagers probably closer to their own age at the time. Several years later and after an acoustic album released to varying success, we find the group returning to those roots and finishing up their third proper LP, A Different Kind of Fix, in Atlanta, GA, and promptly releasing this new single "Shuffle". The track titles applies nicely to the jaunty feel [...]
South London's Dan Smith has been gaining momentum since early this year under his Bastille moniker. His debut track, "Flaws", had no small part in that. It's a bright radio-friendly hit set to please anyone that has anything they don't like about themselves. Which is to say, everyone. His formal release for the single came [...]
Wie bereits angekündigt soll noch in diesem Jahr ein neues Album vierköpfige Indie-Rockband aus London erscheinen.
