Per un compleanno importante un cast perfetto. Ed il regalo più bello. Noi siamo già partiti. MP3 For Carnation - How I Beat The Devil
Tim Furnish Website - Crain Page Will Chatham's Site - Crain Page Crain - Speed LP Although they never became as well-known as some of the other local bands (Slint, Rodan, Rachels), Louisville, KY based Crain stuck around long enough to produce 2 albums and a handful of unreleased material (some of which is now available via a [...]

This is the, what, third time I've referenced Sesame Street on this blog. I love Sesame Street. If I wasn't a lame 9-to-5er, I would still watch it. So today's news roundup is brought to you by the letter B - Boredoms, Benoit Pioulard, Boduf Songs, Bedhead, the /b/ board, baseball, booters, and the Bear Market Bailout. Botta bing! Anyway, there are so many songs (11 MP3s to be exact), and so much content here, that I have no idea what to categorize this post as. So consider this your News and Super Swingin' Mix for [...]

Photograph: Doylestown House - The Stove by Charles Sheeler It's storming outside. You're sitting by the stove getting warm while the sound of the howling wind and the rain clattering on the windows blends with the music. The phone rings. You just let it ring. Not tonight. There will be another day tomorrow. Tonight it's just you, the music and the sound of the storm outside. That's the scene I picture for this playlist. This is dark music for staying inside, alone, while hiding from the howling wind and the [...]

You know what doesn't suck? Spike TV showing mobster movies throughout the month of March. Yesterday afternoon I innocently sat down to watch The Godfather, and then The Godfather Park II, and before I knew it I had wasted about ten hours. I don't know where I went during that time period, but when I came to, I was covered in stale crumbs and there was a wad of drool hanging from the corner of my mouth, swaying back-and-forth in the breeze like a metronome. If feeling so hideous and useless wasn't so upsetting, the scene would have [...]

Slint is a well-known name for a good reason. Spiderland is one of the earliest and most classic indie/post-rock albums, and the various members, with all their talents, moved on to play parts in many excellent bands. Tortoise, Palace, Papa M/Aerial M, and a few more all featured a Slint member, and many more bands were seriously influenced by Slint's dark, elaborately constructed songwork. The For Carnation is one of the splinter bands, formed by guitarist Brian McMahan. When you press play, it's hard not to be surprised by the ... quietness of it. [...]
The For Carnation - "Emp. Man's Blues" One might say that my editor Max MakiÂ's greatest weakness of character is her tendency to find any excuse to bring up the fact that she is indeed my editor. ItÂ's not uncommon for her to stop a stranger on the street, ask him what he does for a living, and without waiting for an answer, interject that she is an occasional contributing editor of an occasional contributing author of an occasionally read mp3 blog. The sad reality is that her work here barely pays the bills. In fact, in recent months, sheÂ's [...]

Found a small text at netlex while making this post. It's ancient, but refreshing. When your mind is going hither and thither, discrimination will never be brought to a conclusion. With an intense, fresh and undelaying spirit, one will make his judgments within the space of seven breaths. It is a matter of being determined and having the spirit to break right through to the other side. Hagakure - The book of the Samourai , Thinking within the space of seven breaths " Fall Evening " [...]
