"Wake up, the mattress is bare. House empty, nobody there. That's my worst nightmare" I happened to discover Phoenix-based indie rock trio Fine China in an attempt find similar artists to my current favourite The Foxglove Hunt . The fact that there are more than a few uncanny similarities between the two bands isn't a surprise: both have the same vocalist in the form of Rob Withem. In fact, Fine China was disbanded in 2006 which led Rob to create The [...]

"But it's like wine, and I can drink but not all the time" What. A. Week. Long story short, let's just say I fought the law and the law won. I've been meaning to update sooner but there's just been so much negative shit going on I simply haven't had time. Needless to say, I'll be on my best behaviour for the foreseeable future. If nothing else positive has emerged from this week, at least I discovered The Foxglove Hunt [...]
From a blog post on myspace : "Built My Fortress Ok, so it's been over a year since we said anything on this blog. Sorry. We've just put together an EP entitled "Built My Fortress" that will be released just before Christmas. This release will contain one never released track, two tracks from our Japanese-only release of "Stop Heartbeat" and live versions of "It's Not Effective", "That's Getting Personal", and "A Concealed Weapon". We're getting things moving again toward a full length for the first part of next year, and [...]

The Foxglove Hunt is an electro-pop duo from Phoenix featuring Rob Withem (formerly of Fine China) and Ronnie Martin (Joy Electric). Formed in 2006, the band's first release came out on a 3.5 floppy disc - I guess their future singles should be released in USB format :-P Anyway, their debut full length Stop Heartbeat followed last year, and we're talking about a record filled with synth textured chambers and dance-pop beats. These blokes are huge fans of the 80's New Wave movement and electro-pop outfits and it shows as they are definitely channeling [...]

I'm trying to figure out if Withem's popped collar is a statement unto itself, or if it coincides with Martin's Don Johnson get up. Maybe Blake should have asked them .
I recently had the opportunity to talk to Ronnie Martin about The Foxglove Hunt — his latest endeavor — 80s media and, as you'd expect, synth. What is the story behind the name The Foxglove Hunt? Ronnie: I don't remember the details. It was something I suggested to Rob when we were thinking of names and I guess he liked it well enough. It obviously has an old English feel to it, which is one of things that drew me to it. Who knows... How [...]

One of the nice things about being one of the oldest bloggers on the internet is that when a band like The Foxglove Hunt comes along, you can add some sort of little anecdote to the mix for insta-cred. In this case, my back story comes from 2000-2002. The Foxglove Hunt is the work of Rob Withem and Ronnie Martin . While those aren't exactly household names, I was excited to see that Rob was still writing music. His old band, Fine China , wrote terrific Smiths/Joy Electric inspired tracks and I [...]
