Hold onto your hats ladies and gents but Aeons Beyond The Satellites EP is being released for free on their myspace. It marks the debut 5-track release from Sydney brothers Lance Gurisik and Josh Matysek. The two formed Aeons a little over a year ago in Sydney and quickly nabbed hold of local attention gaining recording jams with Russ Chimes , Dappled Cities , Hot Little Hands , and Diamond Cut , not to mention playing the Parklife festival. The full 5-track EP, in high-quality format, will be made available [...]
Up until now, I've been unable to check submission emails for the past couple weeks. So here's what I thought was good. Also, a video from Moulinex. Pretty cool. Catch it all after the jump... A-ux - Neon Generation AEONS - Where the Sky Meets the Sea AEONS - Beyond [...]
Sydney kids Aeons are at it again. They've just finished their debut EP entitled Beyond The Satellites and expect it to explode...well...not actually explode coz that would be bad n shit. But you know, expect them to get big with this EP. (and before you ask, no i'm not calling them fatties.) The dudes have [...]

Last week we were super stoked to share with you the debut release of the very talented and sexually explicit Frames. On the back of this, the gang he remixed, AEONS got in touch with us with their side of the story. After years apart honing their skills impersonating their punk rock heroes they got a feeling that perhaps the music game had more to it. After buying a heap of expensive equipment it has only taken one short year for them to figure out how to plug it in, turn it on and make a 5 track [...]

Don't you love a good mystery? Growing up amongst a generation of Goosebump readers (R.L Stine!) has given me a real passion for the unexplained. Today I got a mysterious email from the lovely people at Falcona who were the same people who brought you the intrigue around Universe, this time introducing me to the delights of Frames. Frames is quite different to most producers you're common with, but not unlike Boy 8-bit in his ability to fuse sounds of opposing genres together in a way to make you wiggle. He is the self-described inventor and foremost advocate [...]
You're three tracks into The Cost before you find a song, "The Rise," that opens with anything but singer Glen Hansard's voice as the first thing you hear. The beauty is, you're waiting for the voice, with its hints of Cat Stevens's tonality and its utterly distinct Irish lift. It's Hansard that provides the Frames with such a rising vibe, the sense of a band always lifting off, pressed higher by

This week on the blog I'm bringing the best posts from my first blog 'Mixtape4Melfi' over to 2uibestow. With the IMRO thing I've decided to delete that first blog altogether from the internet archives! One of the features I had on Mixtape4Melfi was 'Irish Artists on YouTube' ... here's the best of those posts: An Emotional Fish – Time Is On The Wall Jerry Fish and the Mudbug Club (formerly known as An Emotional Fish) is an alternative rock band from Dublin, Ireland. X and A Frames at the Funhouse, Seattle | 21 May 2010 The A Frames came out of their self-imposed hiatus, hibernation, or whatever you want to call it, and have regrouped sort of. Singer and guitarist Erin Sullivan, and bassist Min Yee are back but original drummer Lars Finberg is missing (actually he's kind of busy with the Intelligence ). Tommy Northcut replaced Finberg when he left the band concentrate on the Intelligence after the third A Frames [...]

This week on the blog I'm bringing the best posts from my first blog 'Mixtape4Melfi' over to 2uibestow. With the IMRO thing I've decided to delete that first blog altogether from the internet archives! Ruby Tuesday was a feature where I plugged a band that was at the very least new to me. I did find some wonderful jems. Here's part 1 of the archive! Ruby Tuesday – Odi [Appeared on 9th Sept 2008] [...]

This week on the blog I'm bringing the best posts from my first blog 'Mixtape4Melfi' over to 2uibestow. With the IMRO thing I've decided to delete that first blog altogether from the internet archives! When it was announced that The Frames were to play support to Neil Young in Malahide Castle I had to cover it on the blog: A surprise addition to the Neil Young bill this Sunday in Malahide Castle. This week Jennifer Doherty, the writer of the popular blog 'Paws For Thought' is the guest blogger. I'm really excited about this because I don't know many people more passionate about music than Jennifer. Guest Post 5 Music fans were recently reminded of the great work that independent music shops do, during record store day last month. It's a pity that we need a particular day to remind us, but the music scene has changed so much recently. Cool Discs in Derry is the [...]
This week Jennifer Doherty, the writer of the popular blog 'Paws For Thought' is the guest blogger. I'm really excited about this because I don't know many people more passionate about music than Jennifer. Guest Post 3 The revelation that The Frames are brilliant didn't occur to me until half way through the year 2001. I remember hearing 'Revelate' on the radio and thinking it was catchy. I remember Uaneen Fitzsimons interviewing the band. I knew the name Glen Hansard and knew he was the lead [...]

Excellent collection of songs from self-confessed late bloomer to music. Contemporary adult rock album from well travelled Berlin based American who gained recognition and fans during a period living in Ireland. 'This Is Where It Starts' is the debut from Eric Eckhart. One of the best things to say about the album is that it's not easy to select a genre for the album. In many ways it reminds me of the contemporary rock of Athlete's album 'Tourist'. The wonderful [...]
What a week it's been. Gerry Ryan RIP. RTE had plans not to announce this tragic news of Gerry Ryan's death until 5pm out of respect for the family and also to give the many friends of Gerry time [limited] to be contacted. However as was commented on by many media pioneers yesterday Gerry Ryan's death will go down in social networking history as being the first major story to 'break' via tweets in Ireland. RTE made the right judgement to hold off on the announcement out of respect but the passing of information [...]

Housemates. They either hit or miss. and when they miss, they clog up the toilet, finish all your toothpaste, eat all your food, and smoke all your cigarettes. This more or less sums me up anyhow. Sometimes however, Fate himself unravels his small intestines of serendipity to bring together one rad person with another. This post is about our 2 newest living space dwellers and the relevant cool stuffs they do. HOUSEMATE 1: ANDREW BOON aka BOONIE aka BOONDAWG aka FRAMES [...]

Fitzcarraldo Bonus Tracks: Roger One Irish Rover (feat. Liam O'Maolai) Sworn Red Chord (Phillpott Remix) Monument (DJ Mek Remix) Dance the Devil Bonus Tracks: Steal My baby Back Home Look [...]
