Late last year at a show, The Gaslight Anthem offered up a special festive treat for fans, a cover of The Who's 1971 released "Baba O'Riley". Now whilst that was great for the fans at the show us people not there were left to watch videos on Youtube and maybe just think, "that's cool", but today as BPM point out the band have upped a sound-board quality recording complete with footage taken at the show! Give it a watch at the top of the page.

At the end of one of their live sets last year, New Jersey rockers The Gaslight Anthem treated their audience with a cover of The Who's "Baba O'Riley." While it was a spontaneous Christmas treat for fans who attended the show when they played it back in December, those good spirits have been offered to all as the band put up an official video of the song, with some fine stereo sound and visual work. Check it out below:

The Gaslight Anthem continue to post updates from their Twitter as they work on their upcoming major label debut. The latest tweet doesn't reveal a lot, but at the very least suggests that things are going well: Absolutely working at peak here in Nashville! Just wrote another new one! So inspired! This is my favorite songs we've ever recorded. Feels like we found our own sound! The upcoming album will be their first for Mercury Records and the follow up to 2010's American Slang [...]

Bobby Albert - Serving Hub City Rock from 1981-2012 Nobody knows the answer Why Bobby Albert Jr would one day wake-up on a cold January and decide The Court Tavern (124 Church St) would close it's doors forever. Maybe he got an offer he could not refuse - but I doubt it. Maybe the burden of a looming $60 thousand dollar bar license was just too huge an amount of hard swet and pride he was not willing to cough up one more time. The hole was just to big so he folded his hand. [...]

This was the takeaway song of last night. It was playing between sets and it was good enough that you couldn't help but notice it. It was a little bit of a challenge to find out who it was but with technology and friends, we figured out it was The Horrible Crowes. The Horrible Crowes is Brian Fallon of The Gaslight Anthem and Ian Perkins. I don't know how well known it is that I love The Gaslight Anthem but I do. So I guess it's not much of a surprise that I loved The Horrible Crowes without [...]
Not so much a Top 10 list, as there is plenty of music I haven't heard this year, but these 10 albums represent the discs that rarely made it out of rotation on my iPod or Spotify account. These are the albums that I turned to when I was happy, when I was caught in a blinding moment of despair, when I needed someone else's words to articulate the emotions swirling in my head, if only to allow me the chance to breathe in, breathe out, and steady the ship. Music has that power - to soothe, to [...]
