After hearing the news last week that Texas Is The Reason is re-forming for a show here in New York next month, I got to thinking about all of the other emo bands I used to love. I had a 4-year period (1998-2002) where emo, or post-punk as we liked to call it, was pretty much the main (sub)genre of music I was listening to. Since 2002, though, I really haven't listened to a whole lot of emo.
When Tim said the next theme on Contrast Podcast was "This One Goes Out To....", I knew a) who I was dedicating a song to and b) what song expressed my sentiments. I'm not going to spill the beans on who the person is because a) they know my feelings about them and b) they probably/maybe/absolutely (but won't tell me in fear of embaressment) read this blog. There's a couple good write-ups on the promo materials and pre-released tracks up on Good Hodgkins and My Old Kentucky Blog (although Dodge doesn't answer the question: Who would win in a fight?
