Fresh out of their self imposed "retirement", The Get Up Kids are back with a new album, There Are Rules, due out in January of next year. The album's first single "Regent's Court", which is streaming below is a nice mix of the band's early energetic sound and what appears to be a more experimental and synthesized future.
Stereogum recently posted a Progress Report on Kansas City band, The Get Up Kids. The Get Up Kids have posted the first new track from their comeback full length, which sonically follows in the foot steps of the Simple Science EP that they released this past summer. Their sound has matured a bit, but it's not a huge departure,which should please long time fans of the band. East Coast tour dates for the Where's The Band? tour have been announced. The acoustic tour will hit up The Trocadero on Friday December 10th, Music Hall of Williamsburg on Saturday December 11th and Highline Ballroom on Sunday December 12th. The tour will feature solo acoustic performances from Dustin Kensrue(Thrice),Matt Pryor(The Get Up Kids),Chris Conley(Saves The Day) and Anthony Ranieri(Bayside).
