Mrs. Toad's Lettuce The above picture shows how our veggie patch is doing, for those of you who give a flying fuck, which admittedly might not be many of you. Sunday was spent lying about in the garden reading books, which was nice and relaxing after getting pished late into the night with Monster Island, These Single Spies and Kid Canaveral after the Henry's gig on Saturday night. This Saturday we will be collecting for the RNLI in Stockbridge, so if you want to help out please do get in touch as we will [...]

Funnily enough, the most interesting music events this week are being held as part of the film festival. Not funny "ha ha", though. Happy Monday. Wednesday 24th June 2009: All Tomorrow's Parties documentary at the Picture House This is something rather special. It's described as a" unique 360 degree music event". Firstly, the film sounds incredible. It's compiled from footage contributed by both fans and artists at the festival, shot on super 8, digital and mobile phone, as well as footage from Vincent Moon ( the Take-Away [...]
THE GARDEN PARTY dares to be different. With its origins traced back to Sao Paolo guerrilla street artists and private parties, it's finally going overground as a 2000-capacity antidote to festival behemoths like T in the Park. And it's probably the only event in the world where the dancefloor is located on a tennis court. Game on! Location: Kelburn Castle, near Largs, Ayrshire. Fascinating fact: The Garden Party had to be cancelled last year because Strathclyde Police's staffing bill would have been more [...]

Hello everyone - sorry for the lateness of this post, but unfortunately sometimes actual jobs with wages and things have to take precedence over things Toad, just for a little while. I have spent the day at a meeting in Inverness, and I am desperate for a really good sleep. There's not a lot on in Edinburgh this week as far as I can tell. The brilliant Animal Magic Tricks is playing pretty much as I write this, and I am gutted that I won't get the chance to see her. Well, not until Saturday, anyway, which is [...]

This is just an overspilling of all the shiny new things I have in my inbox this week. It's so fabulously up to the minute that there are songs in here which only landed in my inbox yesterday. There's a slightly sneaky legend making an appearance as well, in the shape of Jason Lytle. Jason was the lead singer of Grandaddy, a legendary group who disbanded back in about, erm, 2006 or so, leading to Jason moving to a house out in Montana and apparently giving up on the idea of making a living out of music altogether. [...]

...phew. Christmas is nearly here, the school term is over...and I'm feeling absolutely exhusted and still quite some way off goodwill to all men, especially if they have anything to do with the RIAA or the DMCA. But, it has been a good year for me overall, sustained by getting a better job, the continued love and support of Mrs. 17 Seconds and family, friends and readers. 17 Seconds Records Ltd. is go, make friends at our myspace page if you haven't already . 17SEC1 is already available as a download, Aberfeldy's [...]
