Last night was Another Form of Relief's first outing as a DJ, at the lovely Moogie Wonderland in Rochester. Well this dude certainly came out of nowhere. Star Slinger is a 24 year old beat prodigy from Manchester, and he's basically the best remix artist around. His reworking of Cocteau Twins got him noticed, but his best work has been on recent indie rock remixes. These days it's pretty damn difficult to craft your own "sound," but this kid somehow patented some funky space dust to sprinkle on all the lucky indie bands.
