Mr. Jonathan Leather (if that is his real name) is throwing a little birthday party at Union Hall on Saturday night ( October 4 ) with Motel Motel , The Go Station , Intermissions (ex Bling Kong), and Tropic of Nelson . Though it is a party (and I was told there would be cake), the proceeds from the show will go towards the Jiamani Scholarship Fund , which provides educational resources for Tanzanian children, so your $10 is going to a good cause.
Motel Motel have received some excellent press lately, and on Saturday they headline a benefit concert at Union Hall . Well, it's finally over. The Milwaukee Brewers crapped away their chances at a postseason birth last night with a loss to the San Diego Padres and a win from the Chicago Cubs. It looks like my prediction that the Brew Crew would make the playoffs didn't hold true - but then again, I severely underestimated their ability to crap away the NL Central lead in such haste.
