So this has been a REALLY long week. My domain, which was on auto-renew, did not auto-renew. Podpress (the mp3 player suite) broke. And some of my tunes have had too many downloads per hour, thus they stopped working (anti-piracy tool). So I guess I am a victim of my own success! Anyways we are still under construction. While I like the theme how it is, I think I am still going to change some other stuff. Mainly statistics. I used to utilize them, but then I stopped. But I would like to use them again. So be patient while [...]
The GoStation are a great band from New York. Their new album, Passion Before Function, is set to be released September 25th. The first single, All Together Now, is a hard indie song with lots going on. The song starts off with a really distorted guitar, which reminds me of an old Garbage cd. Then the band comes in, and the song comes together. Throughout the song one can hear feedback, which gives the song some edge. The melody of the song is really piercing. Doug Levy's voice is very on pitch. If the rest of the album is like [...]
If you've been missing Oasis and how good they used to sound, then you should look at their New York clone, The GoStation. They have toured with several acts who have been equally impressed like The Dears, The Bravery and...
Who else went out to experience the mess that was the Red Bull Flugtag this past Saturday? I was there but I ended up bailing right before the midway point because of being overly hot and a little frustrated with the constant glitches in the presentation. I mean, experiencing Perry Farrell do a bizarro-lounge version of the National Anthem isn't something that I really feel bad about missing more than half of, but that's no reason for the piss poor effort of the people that were in charge of making sure that the vocals were turned up. [...]

H ailing from NYC, 5 piece The GoStation have worked hard over the last several years to create a place for their music in the hearts of their fans. Having worked with and shared shows with at least 11 noteworthy bands (Elefant, the Dears, The Mooney Suzuki, you get the idea), they are releasing their debut album, Passion Before Function , next month (25 September) in hopes to put the rock and roll back in your own heart and mind (yikes -that sounds even more cheese laden when you type [...]
Sure ain't Oliver's army (though I hope they're here to stay). I've stayed up a wee bit late for a worknight, so here goes. If you, too, are in a biggish hurry, skip down to Stuperhero. You'll be done in a jif, surfeited anyway (we hope). This band comes on strong recommendation from our friends at KEXP , and they don't just toss those kinds of endorsements around lightly. The Go Station are a five piece from NYC. They are "on a musical mission to restore rock to its rightful place — the hearts and minds of the people". Of course, that tells you nothing about their music. I'd say it sounds a bit Oasis-y, minus the nasal sneer. Think stadium rock - big hooks, catchy chorus & thunderous guitar. Their debut album, Passion Before Function , [...]

Hailing from New York City, The GoStation are on a musical mission to restore rock to its rightful place — the hearts and minds of the people. The band opt for epic compositions marked by masterful guitar interplay, a steady rhythmic punch, and huge sing-along choruses. This Fall sees the band releasing their debut full-length, Passion Before Function, produced by Bill Racine (Rogue Wave, Flaming Lips.) Check out the feedback-drenched album opener "All Together Now" now... All Together Now.mp3 [...]

On June 30, Brooklyn folkie Langhorne Slim and local New York City heroes Neckbeard Telecaster will take the stage at the Luna Lounge to remember beloved photographer, friend and father Drew Goren. The former CMJ art director, who snapped bands like Sonic Youth, Spoon and Bloc Party, lost his life to cancer late last year at 33 and is survived by his 5-year-old daughter, Nina. All proceeds raised from the evening will be donated directly to the Drew Goren Memorial Fund to ensure a future for Nina. Spread the word and enjoy the great music and [...]

The GoStation is no stranger to Underrated shows. In fact they played my 21st birthday celebration, way back when, at the now defunct Tribeca Rock Club. There's been a lot of changes since, and The GoStation has grown into a solid live act that is bound to go beyond a local scene. The band will take the stage fourth on Saturday, at 11 PM. I've seen this band play so many times, but each time I remember why it was I loved them in the [...]
