The Haggis Horns have a got a rocket in their pocket and they're funking it up but is that enough to make a truly classic album. Well in this case sadly not but that does not mean that this is not worth the entrance fee. This genre specific album keeps to it's roots and is as funky as hell. Individually these tracks all stand on their own. As a collective it's a wee bit same-y and monotonous but enjoyable no the less and if you like your funk brass heavy then look no further. [...]

Exciting news came this week that funk legend Maceo Parker is coming back to do a mini tour of the UK this spring. His only northern date is at Stylus at Leeds University on Thursday 17th April, and with tickets only £15.50, its sounding like a unmissable gig. Joining Maceo's band on the night is jazz trombonist Dennis Rollins who has preformed or toured with the likes of Erykah Badu, Roy Ayers, Gorillaz and The Brand New Heavies. I hate modern life! Time flies by so fast and you can never tend to enough things.
